Great Value for the Money
The Byrd knives, in this case Meadowlark, remain the standard for high quality at a very decent price. These knives are made by/for Spyderco and mimic the features and details of their more expensive Spyderco counterparts. These may use a more economical steel in the blade but I have found that they hold an edge just fine.

For the Byrds? Get a Spydie or a Ganzo.
I have purchased many spyderco knives, including Delica, endura, paramilitary 2, stretch, dragonfly and ladybug. I'm a big fan of the pm2 and endura. The ergos are good with this meadowlark. The rear blade tang is almost covered in the closed position. Better than the delica.Blade is 8 cr 13 mov which is mediocre but not unusual for the price point. With the finger chill you get a full 4 finger grip on the handle. The Frn handle is steel lined, not flexy and has good purchase. There's only one major problem with this knife. The Ganzo firebird 759m. I own both knives and they are completely identical with these differences. Ganzo uses 440C which is a step up from the spydero byrd steel used here. The Frn is a slightly different pattern, more the bidirectional stereotypical frn on the the standard line spydies. Most importantly, the action of the ganzo out of the box is much smoother and quicker than the meadowlark. All at 1/2 the price. If you want a cheap spyderco lockback I suggest the Ganzo. Or step up to an Endura or PM2 or Stretch. The steels are better, action is great and lots of design thought in each.
