Tried it for the first time yesterday. Peeled the ginger (using a paring knife) then grated it. It took very little effort and time. The spikes are very sharp and grind down the the ginger rapidly. Just watch your fingers when you get down to the last tiny bit of ginger.I was making a ginger drink, and it was tricky getting all of the grated ginger off the spikes. But I poured some boiling water carefully on the spikes, which washed the grated ginger into the handy smooth moat all around the spikes, then I was able to easily tip it all into a mug with no ginger wastage! I imagine this will be effective for grating garlic as well!A friend was over and admired the grater. He'd never heard of a ginger grater before. I think this is one of those rare things: an object that would make an excellent and useful gift that looks lovely, is inexpensive, and which most people don't already own! I can already think of a few people who might like one for Christmas ... :)So pleased!

this is the perfect way to prepare ginger, nice looking porcelain dish and so very good at preparing ginger (which is a pain to chop up) that I ordered a second one as a gift for my daughter, she now wonders how she lived without it as she uses a lot of ginger

I have bought this to try and improve the look of surgery scars but the product didn't do anything for it. It's nothing more than a moisturizer hence one star.

I bought this as a gift for a foodie friend whose previously ginger grater had chipped. I haven't used it but my friend has been raving about this replacement for her original: It enables her to grate ginger easily and without scraped finger tips.

Product arrived today. Took out the product realized it’s oily. The kid was loose and the bottle was covered in oil. Very very disappointed and want a refund. Oil products needs freshness and don’t feel like even putting on skin. Have a proof of evidence in photo. They have sent me a defect product and want my money back or through it in the bin.

Bought after knee operation, excellent repair oil and nice smell too. Scar almost gone!

Really does the job of shredding ginger. We use it often. Just don't let your fingers get near the little spikes - they are sharp.
