The Rail Light Mount fits on any standard 1913 Picatinny Rail, is available in Right or Left side models, and integrates with the Magpul XTM panels. It positions the light high and cantilevered forward, at the 11 o'clock or 1 o'clock position, to allow a more forward support hand position, keep the light tucked in close to the bore, and to minimize barrel shadow. A textured thumb ramp is integrated to provide the user an index point, aiding consistent hand placement and light activation. Constructed of reinforced polymer, the Rail Light Mount nearly eliminates light compatibility concerns by conveniently including everything you need to mount Surefire 300 and 600 series Scout Lights, 1913 Picatinny attachment pistol lights, and all light bodies from 0.75" to 1.03" in diameter via the included set of anodized aluminum mounting rings. Models are available to position the light high at 11 o'clock (LT, Left side model) or one o'clock (RT, Right side model).

The product itself is nice, just some minor annoyances...
Let me begin by saying that everything in this ad is off. The title states that it's for a Right-sided light mount, but then, the description states that it would position the light at the 11 o'clock positions (which would be a left-sided mount). I shoot lefty, so I wanted the light on my right. I took a chance and ordered the one that state its right-sided on the title, and that's what I got (1 o'clock position, not 11)The picture is also deceiving, as it doesn't show the rings that actually hold the flashlight. Again, I wasn't sure if I'd have to purchase them separately or if they came included, but alas, they were in the box.Now onto the product itself. It's pretty awesome! I went with a Streamlight flashlight and love my set up. I had some room to move the flashlight farther forward, but I positioned it where my thumb can easily activate the light from my normal shooting stance/grip.My only grief with it is that they sent me an extra set of screws for the mount (that I dont see myself using), but not an allen wrench to tighten everything up (that would've REALLY come in handy when installing).

Affordable quality light mount
The magpul light mount is made well , light weight , affordable light mounting option , it weighs in at 2.2 oz with out light . There are two options left mount or right mount , if you want to mount the light mount in the 12 o clock position on a rail and want the light on the left side you need to order the right hand one , and vise verse . If you mount it normally on the side of the rail 9 o'clock you need the left hand one so the light is on the left hand side . 3 o'clock light mount so light is on the right hand side . Will accept lights between 3/4" to a little over 1" .

Good Product
Its Magpul. Made in USA. Quality. I mounted a streamlight protac HL-X (non weapon light model) on it and fits good and stayed snug so far. I purchased the “Left” model (11oclock) for the sole purpose that i could mount at 12 oclock with my picatinny rail AND have my light at 1 oclock. With the “Right” model, i would have needed picatinny on the right side and from the pics you can see i have keymod. Im a left hand shooter and this setup works very well on my rifle.

Item pictured is the right side mount and not the left side.
I wanted to mount this to the top of the rail with the light on the left sight of the front gas block at an 11 o’clock position. Based on the picture I thought that’s what I was getting. Once I got the mount I realized that “left side” mounts to the left side of the rail with the light on the left side of the gas block. Why is this a problem for me? I like my rail as small as possible and the adds a little more to have to grip around. Not a deal breaker and I made it work. Magpul quality as usual is unbeatable for the price.

Meh...
I purchased this for a lightweight rifle build, and was very underwhelmed. I've been using the UTG light mounts on my other guns (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0711BLW6C/), and they are a far superior product. They weigh exactly the same, look better, don't require you to purchase a separate rail section to mount them on a smooth rail, are more durable, can be mounted on either side, and can be used with or without the cantilever section. I'll be selling my Magpul one on ebay and sticking with the UTG.

Great product.
I bought the Right-hand light mount, which would install at the 2 o'clock position. My rifle is right-handed. But I chose to install it on the left side of my rifle so it's at the 8 o'clock position. I like this better because from the handguard, my thumb can easily activate the light switch, which is located at the butt end of the flashlight. Also, I'm not a fan of mounting flashlights high (above 9 o'clock or above 3 o'clock) because the light blocks critical field of view. Having the light at 8 o'clock makes the light well out of the way. Something to consider.

It's a good mount, just be careful when tightening the screws on it. They're very prone to stripping and getting either the mount stuck on the firearm or the mount stuck to the flashlight. Aside from being permanently stuck to my 590a1 and having to get something to cut the rings to get my surefire out of it to try another mount for my SLR, it is a good mount that didn't cause barrel shadow the way I set it up. mind you, in total with the flashlight and rail for it, it came to about 7-8 oz. Just something to think about before mounting this to your equipment if it's already a bit forward heavy.

Great flashlight mount from MAGPUL that can hold different diameter ...
Great flashlight mount from MAGPUL that can hold different diameter lights. My light is Streamlight Nightfighter X it is 22.8mm in diameter and I've had hard time finding a mount that would work. Most of the mounts that I saw were 1" - 25mm and they would not work unless you use some kind of a shimm. With this mount you can use variety of lights. I also like the way it sits on the rifle, solid, no movement, easy to operate the light without twisting your hand in awkward position.
