TIPPERARY EQUESTRIAN Equestrian-Helmets Sportage

I love this helmet. I initially wanted a more classic looking schooling helmet, but after trying many on I discovered I had a round shaped head... most of the helmets I tried on were more for oval shaped heads which left room in the front and back. I reluctantly ordered this one, which is recommended for rounder heads. Right out of the box I fell in love with it. I got the cocoa colour and it almost looks black.The casing is so pretty and it's so sharp looking. I love the little Tipperary emblem patch at the front of the helmet. I work in the medical field and am so happy that this helmet comes down in the back, wrapping around the back of the skull. It's the only helmet I've come across that does this. I feel safe and secure in it. My head in 22 inches around and I ordered a medium. It's too snug with all the padding but if I take out the removable back pad and insert a mini pad in the front... absolutely perfect fit. It's so comfortable you forget it's there. Comes with customizable padding inserts, but I would say around 22 inches is the max circumference a medium would fit. Comes with a dust cover that you can sling over your shoulder.

For many years I wore a Tipperary Sportage in endurance. Then I had a chance to try a couple other brands. When they wore out (not from falling, just brushing tree limbs and such) and I needed a new one, I tried this updated Tipperary design. I was not disappointed! It is well cushioned yet snug. And it doesn't come down so close to my eyes that I have to tilt my head up to see ahead. It *is* a wee bit tight, perhaps, as I get a mild, transient headache after riding, but I love the fact that it isn't loose and sloppy like some other helmets I've worn. It's the best helmet for the price, in my experience.

This helmet arrived in a timely manner and is as described. However, the manufacturer year is 2014, which means that it is already 3 years old. I don’t understand why I was shipped a helmet that was made 3 years ago. I believe that these helmets are only recommended to safety use for 5 years from the year they are manufactured. That’s a huge disappointment given the price that I paid for it knowing that I will probably have to replace it again in just 2 more years.

Excellent, stylish looking helmet, that provides excellent protection for the head, including the back of the head due to the fact that this helmet covers more of the lower back of the head than many others.The assortment of self sticking foam inserts that are provided allows you to custom fit the helmet to your head.I was able to get this helmet to fit tightly and securely which is important for the best protection.This helmet is sturdily constructed and well padded and will do an excellent job in protecting your head.The chin strap works well and can easily be buckled and unbuckled and its tightness adjusted.

Awsum helmet! YES it does fit my 2yr old grandson perfectly. The straps are a bit long but removing the chin pad and during the strap stays shows it to fit perfectly. It also has plenty of grow room so the investment is well worth it. I really like that it has more coverage in the back of the head (although that has its own controversy) I'm probably going to buy myself one too even though I already have a nice helmet. Really really nice!

Love this helmet! Had been using Troxel but this helmet is tons better. Insides are actual padding with some give, not the hard styrofoam of Troxel. Also love the way Tipperary helmets come down more in the back. Venting on top helps with cooling, in Alabama that helps!!

Love this helmet!! Fits great, comes with lots of pads to customize the fit perfectly! The only thing is don't like is the strap for adjusting it is so long....the little leather keeper for the strap won't even fit on it because the strap has so much length to it that it won't fit over it. But otherwise I love the helmet itself! I love that it covers all the way down the back of my head...I feel much more protected that way! I got the charcoal color and I love it that it's not a glossy finish...it's matte and nicely understated. Great price for a great helmet! Way better than troxel!

This is my third Tipperary sport helmet. I keep one in my trailer and one for arena riding. This helmet is very comfortable but the biggest reason for me is that it protects my head and neck. It rides more down the neck than other helmets. I did a lot of research about helmets before I bought this one. Highly recommend this helmet.
