Fabric for Fashion: The Complete Guide: Natural and Man-made Fibres Kindle Edition

I've been a qualified dressmaker, for many years, but only use my skills for making clothes etc. for myself and family. I recently ordered a book with fabric samples, I should have bought years ago, I like to buy fabric locally, but very rarely see something I like that is suitable. I realized this book is usually bought with the other book I ordered that has the fabric samples. I recently received this book, and am enjoying it. A lot of it so far is stuff I already know, but not all of it. I'm hoping this book and the sample book will give me an idea of what fabrics to buy on line. Often I see fabric, but I'm not usually sure if it's what I'm looking for. I'm really enjoying this book, it's great to see the pictures of clothes and learn more about the fabric that is used. I'm expecting the book with the samples today,

This book is amazing! I teach textiles and was struggling to find a textbook for my own personal use to create lectures that included strong information on textile fibers. I got this book and absolutely love it. The book is very easy to follow with great graphics and images. The fibers are classified clearly throughout the chapters. And the information is very rich and provides great details about fiber history, production, and use. I would definitely recommend this book if you're interested in learning more about textile fibers! It also provides a great overview of fashion fabrics and basic textile terminology.

I bought the online one, on amazon kindle and not that fan of itbeucase confuses you with the pictures and doesn't make to read it with pleasureThe book it's self is really nice, the only minus that I gave is because reading it online on tablet or laptop is not that comfortable .Better buy a hardcover or paperbag : )

Delivery was prompt and the book arrived in pristine condition. As far as the contents inside go, this book is an invaluable resource. I highly recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in fashion or textiles. You will learn just about everything there is to know about fabric!

Good information on characteristics of fibers but it does not go into the characteristics of specific fabrics. Disappointed but will still keep it in my library.

An essential book to own

This book has a lot of good content. I love that it has covers natural fibers as well as man made fiber. As someone who enjoys making clothes, it's nice to have a resource to reference back and determine whether the fabric will work with the design.

Certainly a complete guide for beginner in fabrics. Great explanation, pictures and example of use. Great book

It is a good reference book if you want to know more of the history of each fabric. But what I was missing in it was, in which kind of clothing are they best used for.

If you want to know more about fabrics and how they made and what materials needs to be used to make them it is really great. Also shows how can u make more environmental friendly products etc... Really grea book

Love this book. Very interesting read. As an amateur sewer, I was keen to learn more about fabrics. There is plenty of fascinating history and background information written in a very accessible way. It's going to be invaluable as a reference when I've finished reading it through
