Now House by Jonathan Adler Michele Collection Area Rug, 9' x 12', Ivory and Black

This is a beautiful rug. It looks even better in person. I’m only giving it 4 stars because it sheds short white fibers no matter how much it is vacuumed. I loved it. Unfortunately, white/light rugs and puppies don’t mix. My dog did explosive diarrhea on it, and I couldn’t get the stain out so I got rid of it. I will miss this rug forever.

The rug arrived sweating in its packaging as soon as it was delivered (I was home to receive). Once unwrapped, I found the rug wet in certain areas, and damp all throughout and with what I think to be mold (it had an odor as such growing). Also, the trim had a significant piece of wool that was not secured. Otherwise this is a nice looking rug if it would arrive in brand new condition. I tried to attach photos yet the feature did not work for me.

This rug has a terrible chemical smell that won’t go away. Had it for three weeks. Thought it would dissipate. Tried fabreze. Airing it out. Still stinks. Disgusting. It is going back.

This rug was a great pair with the unusual couch that we have. We have a white leather couch and it needed something that would match in color and style.The Jonathan Adler in Ivory and Black looks good with the couch, the ivory is not a yellow ivory but more of just off/white.The rug is 100% wool, lays well, and looks good.

This 5'x7', Now House by Jonathan Adler Michele Collection Area Rug is a beautiful, low profile rug that's much more stunning than it appears in the product page pictures.This rug is made of 100% wool so it will shed fibers initially, which is normal for a new rug, wool in particular. Frequent vacuuming will shorten the shedding period. I also strongly recommend the use of a rug pad. Rug pads enhance the underfoot feel of any area rug and prolong the life of the rug. I like felt rug pads because they are inexpensive but don;t break down or damage wood flooring like foam pads. https://www.amazon.com/RUGPADUSA-RPC12F-57-Available-Thicknesses-Protection/dp/B005Q83CD8/Frequent vacuuming is also recommended for wool rugs to prevent moths and carpet beetles.It arrives rolled up and wrapped in heavy, clear plastic but it flattens out quickly when placed on the floor.When I opened and unrolled this rug, I was surprised at how much more pronounced the black and ivory, geometric pattern in the is are. The pattern appears muddy and an overall greyish color in the product page pictures but it's not. The black and ivory lines are very distinct and the diamond patterns are much more defined. The effect is stunning and can be quite the focal point of a room. Although it's fairly modern, it is simple enough to look well in a number of different decors. I placed this at the stairway landing on the second floor of my 100 year old home and it looks fantastic.

We're so excited to use this rug in our new home. It's thicker than a lot of the cheaper rugs on the market: it's nice and heavy, and the design is clean, appealing and modern...this would look great in an eclectic, mid-century or modern home. However, I do have one complaint. The product images for this rug don't do it justice at all. The rug is boldly woven in two shades: black and ivory/tan-ish. The geometric striping does create a little bit of an optical effect: the lines tend to blur together, given the right angle. But in person, the rug is clearly black and white, while in the product images, it looks rather grey-ish, and the pattern is not as distinct. But watch out...in real life, the rug has a bold, clear pattern. Very nice!

I like this because it is very high quality with thick cushy fibers that are easy to vacuum. It was easy to flatten out when unrolled. Also it didn't have that strong chemical smell that most new rugs have. It flattened out so well and feels great under our feet. The pattern and colors are very attractive! Even my cat liked it and stretched right out on it. I placed this one at the foot of the bed and it looks great!
