These 7 inch swivel plates worked great on my old bar stools. They are solid and not wobbly again. The plates are heavy and appear to be well made. It took me about ten minutes total to remove the old one and install the new one. A little tight, but I didn’t experience any problems installing or using. Spun the stool about 50 times after installing to loosen and lubricate the ball bearings and it working great. I would recommend this as a replacement swivel for stools.

Cheaper swivels have material to keep ball bearings in place, this wears out over time. These swivels are very sturdy and should last a long time. they do have sharp edges so be careful when handling. They are also very tight when first turned. I put two screws on my workbench to align with the holes, then took a 12 inch board put two screws in it to align with top holes. Then pushing down on the swivel with my upper body weight, I was able to turn the swivel safely . Turn the swivel about ten rotations to spread the grease to all the bearings.

For lightweight barstool, the swivel is quite stiff or sticky. That is why I gave it 3 stars. For heavier chairs it would likely not be a problem.Regarding the install rating, I had to find a welder, but that was due to chair construction, not a fault of the product.

Bolted this swivel to an old wooden bar stool with another peice of plywood on top to spray paint some projects. Had to punch out a poly ring around the bearings to make it easier to swivel and it works great. Pretty sturdy, so I’m guessing it would make a fantastic swivel replacement for regular bar stool seat.

Fit perfectly in my bar stools. As many people have posted, both units that I received were tight and VERY hard to turn by hand to install them. Once installed in the chairs the seats are still stiff and do not turn easily by hand. When sitting in them they turn okay because our body motion has a fair amount of muscle. I don't know if they will loosen up. It's been two months now and they haven't changed.

The fit and finish of this piece are great. Quality USA manufacturing for sure. Note that it spins fairly slowly compared to the one we were replacing. But overall, very smooth operation.

These heavy duty swivels will replace lighter, weaker chair swivels that have started to fail. These are quality swivels!
