Lights, Camera, Cook! (Next Best Junior Chef, 1)

I was stuck in a reading slump when I came across this book. Needing a light read to refuel my love for reading, I was immediately drawn to it because it combines three things that I love: cooking competition shows, food, and reading! It's stylized with illustrations throughout as well as interviews that show the children's pov as they experience being in front of the cameras and away from their families. It also comes with bonus content that teaches knife cutting skills for chefs young and old, which is great because I need all the help I can get! This book would be a great family read or something your child can read on their own. Or, if you're like me, a cute read that even an adult can enjoy.

As someone who loves Kids Baking Championship and loves to talk about it with her students, I loved this book! A well written, appropriate, competitive book for baking-loving kids. I will absolutely recommend this series to my students. I read #2 and 3 in two days and look forward to adding these novels to my 4th grade classroom.

I purchased the 3 books in this set. My grandson loves the books and is now on book 2.
