Samson"Silent" Dehydrator with 6 STAINLESS STEEL Trays PLUS 6 Silicone Sheets

This dehydrator is perfect size for countertops, and really quiet so not annoying to have going when you're in the kitchen. It can hold about 3lbs of beef Jerky at once, and completes the job in about 5 1/2 hrs. The silicon mats also make for easy clean-up. Exactly what I was looking for and a good price.

I tested the temperature in my dehydrator, and it was spot on! I was expecting it to be off by 5 degrees like another reviewer had stated but I tested it at 140 and my thermometer registered 140. Very pleased. It's very quiet! I have it in my kitchen and hardly know it's on. The fan is very quiet and all you hear is a very slight hum...and I do not have any hearing problems. :) So far I've made spinach wraps, sweet potato chips, corn chips, dried bananas and mushrooms, made seed and nut crackers, and everything came out perfectly. I also discovered that I really don't have to rotate the trays unless they're all fully loaded. I'm very happy I purchased this one and even happier I don't have buyer's remorse! lol

It worked well for occasional home use. VERY disappointed that it suddenly stopped working less than a year after purchase. Only limited warranty that requires user to pay shipping and handling back to manufacturer.

Yes this dehydrator is very quiet While running especially compared to others I’ve used. It dehydrates evenly enough... and it’s design looks nice on the counter.A couple odd quirks though. The heat can only be set in nine digit increments... so for example say you want to dehydrate apples at 135 degrees... too bad. It can be set to 131 (really!) or 140. This makes me oddly OCD... I don’t want it at 131 I want it at 135. I generally dehydrate at a higher temp than I want because of this. It’s not a terribly big deal but it is just... odd to me. Particularly because the timer can be set in thirty minute increments so... why can’t the temperature do something similar? I like nice even 5s and 0s I guess.The alarm (When the timer is done) is insanely loud Especially for a machine whose whole advertising model is “I’m the Quiet One” And it goes on and on and on. I think it’s 30 seconds If solid “beeeeeeeeeeeep” which sounds short but trust me it’s an eternity especially late at night. And you can’t shut it off. It will eventually stop screaming at you... and the heat and fan shut off too so you can roll over and go back to sleep... but if you are standing right there pushing all the buttons it won’t matter. It must scream into the void for its thirty seconds.Cleaning has been fine and it has held up so far. I would definitely recommend it and I felt it was money well spent.

I wanted to upgrade to a dehydrator with adjustable temps. I intend to make yogurt, but haven’t tried yet. I was concerned about cleaning since dishwasher isn’t recommended, but it truly is easy to clean. I’m still learning but am very happy with it! Others noted that it put off a good deal of heat. Possibly because of where mine is located, I have not noticed that. Very happy with this purchase.

Great machine for the price.

Doesn't work as well as others, even less expensive then this. I was sick and in hospital and missed my 30 days to return and now I'm stuck with something that takes 3-4 days that should take hours...wont use again for anything but I'm stuck with it.

My friends have had Excalibers, and the noise always put me off. This is much quieter and I prefer the slide on clear door as well. It looks good on the counter and I appreciate the digital controls. It's done great making raw vegan crusts/breads/roll-ups etc. I would highly recommend this over other models. I got the metal racks and I love them they are so much easier to clean and work with than plastic racks.
