If you enjoy a coloring challenge, you will love this book! Each page is filled with hundreds of numbered shapes to color: hexagons, squares, circles, or triangles. Your job is to look at the corresponding color chart (printed on the back of the book with shades and color names, and also on the left side of every page, where the colors that are not needed for the specific page are omitted) and fill in the page. It sounds like your run-of-the-mill color by numbers, but it is impossible to tell what you are coloring until the page is nearly finished! You also have to pay close attention to which numbers go where. It may seem like you have a field of red boxes, but in the middle, you will need to color one yellow. Get ready for hours of coloring on each page - the perfect project for snowy winter days when the family is pent up inside.I started off using colored pencils, which worked well. I was nervous to use markers because I knew the spaces to color were small and didn’t want to mess my page up. However, I think coloring with markers made my artwork pop even more! I did color with a guard sheet underneath, but really did not need it. Since the pictures are single-sided and the back of the picture is a black color guide for the next page, you can color freely with any medium you choose without worrying about destroying the next page.Even though I made a few mistakes (and a few markers ran out, so I had to slightly change my shades midway through a picture), I really couldn’t even tell at the end. This is such a stress-free, relaxing challenge that you could do while listening to music or a podcast, or while watching TV. The size is perfect for putting in a backpack, and the book seems like it would hold up really well during travel. All 22 colors used consistently through the book are common enough that you could find them in most packs of colored pencils - for sure in the Crayola 50 pack because that is what I use when I am out and about! I love the consistency of the colors because it allows me to learn and remember for each new page, which requires less thinking and quicker coloring. If you have colored with other Sunlife Mosaic and Quest books, you might already have the colors ready to go!As you can see by the cover and my pictures, the color scheme is not always true to the real animal’s color (for example, a true horse would be brown and black, but the one on the cover is rainbow). I appreciated the difference because it made the book super unique from anything else I have ever owned and kept the color schemes fun! If it would have been a true color scheme to these animal, it probably would have been mostly blacks and browns, which can get tiresome and hard to find so many different shades! It also kept me in suspense because I couldn’t guess the animal based on what colors they typically are! I thought of tetris a lot as I colored sections at a time, especially when I did the pages with squares as the shape to fill in! The animals just came to life and popped off the page the more I kept coloring, which made it so hard to put down at times!I highly recommend this book for hours of exciting, challenging coloring, especially for an animal lover! Grab a sharp set of pencils or a saturated set of markers and get ready for a relaxing evening! The surprise and end product is so worth it!

I have really enjoyed this coloring book. It is hours of relaxation but who decided on the colors? Green dogs and red buffalo? If you don't mind incredibly crazy color schemes go for it.😉

i was excited to get this book cuz i had their extreme color-by-number book and love it! this book the pictures in the book are so abstract i couldn’t always tell which animal i had just finishing coloring. also the paper quality is just ok

my favourite colouring book i have ordered so far. I love the colours and I like that there is different shapes. Some are hexagons, triangles, squares and circles so it switches it up a bit.

As a big fan of sunlife drawing I have a wide range of there color by numbers books and Haddto get this one to add to my collection and I'm glad I did, the pictures are one sided and look really nice when coloured, I definitely recommend this book to people that like a colour by numbers animals with a bit of a twist.Shelly ( the stitching colourist)
