How To Train Your Dragon: Paperback Gift Set 2 Paperback – October 21, 2014

This box set is nice, but it will soon be outdated when Cowell releases the final book in the series. These books do not necessarily have to be read in order. There is hardly anything in the books that relates to the movies and because of these differences I cannot say one is better than the other.

My son LOVES this book series! He was frequently checking them out at our local library, that I decided to purchase this set. I am SO glad I did. The books arrived about two weeks before the "expected arrival date" which was perfect because I purchased these as a birthday gift to him as well. I did purchase book 12 separately since it was a newer book and not included in this book set. You made a little boy's love of books continue to grow! THANK YOU! :)

My ten year old son was so excited to get these that he has not been able to put them down. I love that he will spend hours reading and also is writing his own dragon story.

I was very excited to receive this set! It's a birthday gift for my dragon-obsessed, soon-to-be 8 year old stepdaughter. My husband already read her the first book and she was hooked, begging for more than a few chapters at bed each night.The packaging is colorful and a great way to keep the books neat and organized (if that is even possible with an 8 year old :-)

The box set is beautiful! The stories are wonderful. Why not a five star review. The books are so tightly packed into the decorative box that it is physically not possible to get just one of them out by itself. You have to tip the box and sort of shake/jostle all the books forward until they're all about an inch out, then push the ones you don't want to read back in, leaving the one you want grabbable. This makes the box useless and you have to remove the books from it for the sake of practical access. A small detail, though. My 10 yo LOVES this series. I am delighted to have the whole set for him to read and re-read.

Great stories, very funny and any easy read for a young adult or older adult like myself. I own the movies but the books are way better easy 4 hr read per book, great adventure to forget about a bad day or snuggle by the fire.

Gave this to my 7 yo daughter for xmas. She loves the movies and has an advanced reading level. She was so excited and wanted to start them right away. Great condition, you'd think they'd just come from the store.

This is a great series of books. All the stories have exciting parts and the main character is an epic sword fighter. He is very smart and has survived many dangerous situations throughout the books. He looks very ordinary but becomes a great leader. I also liked learning about the dragon's language, their appearance and their characteristics. The illustrations of the dragons were detailed and very cool!

Zwei wichtige Dinge vorab:1.Die Bücher haben mit den Filmen fast nichts zu tun!Außer ein paar Namen, Eigenheiten und später auch thematischen Anspielungen ist es eine völlig andere Geschichte mit hauptsächich anderen Charaktern. Also nicht enttäuscht sein, wenn man nicht die Geschehnisse aus den Filmen wiederfindet!Persönlich empfinde ich dies aber als Vorteil, da man so eine neue unbekannte und fantastische Abenteuergeschichte erleben kann, die man nicht schon aus den Filmen kennt/ die nicht den Plot des dritten Films spoilert.2.Diese Box enthält 11 Bücher, damit ist die Reihe aber nicht ganz vollständig.Das 12. und letzte Buch erscheint am 8.9.2015, wer also noch warten möchte, um dann eine vollständige box zu kaufen, kann dies machen :)Es ist auf jeden Fall eine großartige Buchreihe, nicht nur für Kinder.Ich bin 21 Jahre alt und hab mir als großer Fan der Filme die Box mal gegönnt.Zweifelsohne bin ich hellauf begeistert. Ich hab dann auch alle Bücher innerhalb von einer Woche gelesen und warte jetzt gespannt auf den letzten Band.Die Bücher sind einzeln recht kurz, man kann jedes in 3-5 Stunden locker auslesen.Wichtig ist, dass man die ganze Reihe liest. Am Anfang mag die Geschichte noch etwas albern und kindisch wirken (dennoch absolut lesenswert), dies ändert sich aber spätestens im achten Buch, von da an nimmt die Geschichte einen eher düsteren und unglaublich spannenden Verlauf.Wer Abenteuergeschichten mag ist hier auf jeden Fall gut bedient!

Got this set for my 7 year old. He is so in love with this set. Its very well written. Very interesting books. Every night we read these stories together. And even I cant wait to see what's next. Great for the whole family
