This is a nicely make, fairly heavy beauty dish. It does the job very well!The included grid and sock cover makes it a fantastic deal for the price. I can see this lasting a very long time. When attaching the grid, it does slightly scratch off some of the white paint and it will probably arrive that way. No big deal but they should pack it with the grid not attached! The light is even and typical of beauty dish light. The closer to the subject, the nicer the light! (watch a Joel Grimes video to see how to really use a beauty dish).Be aware, its heavy and if you hang it on a light at the end of a boom you will need a very substantial stand. I use a 40" C-Stand with sandbag (reviewed elsewhere).Overall no complaints- I would order another if I ever need another!

I only give 3 star because the honey comb was bend and has dent. So far the BD really work well...use it already with 5 models photoshoot and was very happy of the result..both me and the models.Not sure yet if i really need to paint it white...may be not.

Nice inexpensive light Dish, great for portrait photography. Holds up well. and produces nice even light. Works well with my westcott flashes.

If your studio lights use the Bowens S-mount for modifiers, this beauty dish is a great value. In addition to the 22" dish, you also get a grid and a 'shower cap' diffuser. I've used this dish on Bowens Gemini monolights, and with a rig that attaches a hotshoe flash (I use a Vivitar 285H) to an S-mount speed ring. I'm shooting with a Canon 5D Mark II and a Mamiya 645 AFD ii/Leaf Aptus 65; although the Vivitar flashes don't have as much power as the Geminis, the quality of the light looks great with either camera. Given that the brand-name kit costs several times as much, this is an excellent buy for anyone who prefers to put more money into lenses than flash modifiers.

I really haven't used it much yet, but I also have other beauty dishes that are similar but a smaller 18" diameter. The important thing is the fit and quality. The grid fits snuggly and can be removed easily. The blocking reflector has two indent location setting. The reflective surface is painted white. I already have a smaller silver dish, so I prefer the warmer color effect of the white.It fits my bowens mounting light perfectly. I was pleased that it can also be pressed snuggly OVER a cheap small monolight that does not have a bowens style mounting.

You can't beat it for the price. A little loose on the light but nothing major.

I got this beauty dish for my small house studio and I'm very happy with it. It showed up ready to snap onto my lights all good to go! Decent build quality, no problems to take on location. A must have for any portrait photographer!
