Great radios at a reasonable price with some advanced features.
I am an Amateur Radio Operator (ham radio) KE3PB so I have a good background in all sorts of radios and transceivers. I needed a reasonably priced set of HT's (that's what hams call walkie-talkies) for line-of-sight communication ranging from 1/4 to 1/2 mile. In a quick test I was able to get clear and crisp audio at those distances. I image that with minimal obstruction you should get a mile of equally clear audio. Most people won't use sub-codes but they can be very handy and these radios provide 99. You also get call tones - also very handy. The buttons/controls are logically laid out and easy to use. I especially like the scan function - something usually found on more expensive radios. The size fits nicely in an adult's hand and should be fine for a child as well. The display is easy to read (an important feature to me). All-in-all, you get a very nice pair of Walkie-Talkies with a few advanced features at a very reasonable price.

Great for kids!
Daughter ordered with her bday gift cards. She loves them. Really clear far reaching range. I love that they are rechargeable and no longer cause us to blow through batteries while the kids play. Love the LED flashlight on top. Durable and good value.

Quality Walkie Talkies
Purchased set for 5 year old grandson and I am elated at the quality. He lives about 50 or so feet from me (not sure but certainly not far. We are on same street). No problem whatsoever! He is tooo happy because he and I have been using the walkie talkies sooo much!!!!! You will not be let down. This IS a quality set. How often does that happen now a days?
