Confused by bad reviews --these have worked GREAT for me
I'm surprised at all these very poor reviews. I have had these balls for over a year. Yes, with frequent use they will eventually pop...but this has happened to only 3-4 balls in More than a years time.As a BCBA therapist, I work with quite a few children with autism and special needs...needless to say, these get A LOT OF use, lots of squeezes, pushes, throws, grabs by my kids ages 3-16. They have held up quite well after all the play and fun. No doubt, they will break eventually but I'm confused by reviews stating they popped on first use?!? Mine are used daily and again, in over a year, only a few have popped. And there is a faint odor, but nothing terribly strong or bad enough to be disgusting. Perhaps the company needs better quality control. The batch I received have been wonderful therapy toys and I feel were a fantastic purchase and I was considering buying more for colleagues.

Does not last long
First - the ball is covered by the same stuff that you get onions in except it is black - it is attached with a zip tie. If you don't know what a zip tie is - it is hard plastic and has a sharp end to it after the zip gun cuts it off... THIS comes OFF! and the outer mesh will fall off.Second and most important - THEY STINK - I washed one at least 4 times and it still stinks!Third - they break VERY easily - the inside is the stuff that use to be sold as goop - this is not what stinks - it is the plastic outer shell.Fourth and also important - it makes your hands smell just as bad! The smell is exactly like OFF bug spray! If i hold it out for my dog to sniff, she pins her ears back and runs away.........so I've only done that 2 times...once just because she seemed interested and the second time to try to see if it was the smell. She wasn't talking, but I am pretty sure that is why.....lastly - it is fun to play with........but all of the above is not easy to get past......

Doesn't crack up to the durability needed to sustain the wear and tear of this toy, it just pops!
My son is autistic and absolutely loved this toy! So greatful it came in a pack of 12 because he broke his first one he got from his theropist at school and got it everyehere. The inside not only stained his clothes but was this ooze that got everywhere so I learned my lesson to have him play at the table and keep an eye on him to not squeeze to tight. However, we received the new ones in the mail and even though I did keep my eyes on him and did this game so he pushed the balls back in the mesh as to not pop it he did suceed in breaking it within 5 min. I am gunna take the mesh off the next one to see if it lasts longer. At least he was at the table and I was close enough this time it didn't get all over his clothes ;)My suggestion would be to possibly use a higher density plastic so it doesn't "break under the pressure", lol. Kids who have sensory issues tend to push the threshold of bending and squeezing things just to figure out how it works. They enjoy seeing things pop out and retracting such as how this toy works. It just doesn't crack up to the durability needed for the wear and tear of this toy.I would love to see some changes and I would recommend these to everyone! Great concept!(FYI) I am adding my review because after this time I have made some changes to the item and it has not only aloud for my son to enjoy it without having it brake but again get the enjoyment free of having to worry about making a huge mess.I ended up cutting the mesh off the outside of the ball and it made it wonderful!!! No more braking issues!! The mesh idea was fun but impractical. Now with the changes its again a great toy/sensory item for my son!

These are great for stroke recovery
These are great for stroke recovery. Once you achieve the strength to actually use it, it is excellent for developing fine motor control. You can get immediate feedback from the hand or individual fingers by the number and size of the "bubbles". Make sure you get the type that changes color, they have two layers of membranes. Many people have complained about leaks and punctures. I have been using the same one for two years without any issues. I see a couple reasons this may be. The wire tie can easily compromise the rubber membrane. I make sure when I use it the wire tie is against my palm so that the area around it doesn't get stretched. Another possibility is excessive force and/or speed. Either one of these can cause excessive heat and chafing of the membrane.

Order zip ties too
There little squishy balls are great. That being said, they will break at some point and when they do the goo inside is like slime or Gak (for those of you who remember that remember that goop) but that is why we ordered 12. We knew there would be casualties so we planned ahead. As for the zip tie that holds the mesh on, yeah it's a little sharp. It's a cut end of a zip tie (or wire tie, which ever you prefer) you can cut them shorter or find a nail file and take off the sharp edge. Really a non-issue for me but I know some people were appalled so I thought it worth bringing up. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the mesh constantly comes off. There was no cap or glue holding it together, just the zip tie so the mesh just slips out. Luckily I have zip ties all over my garage so it was an easy fix but it was really annoying that I had to keep fixing them.

It's okay for about an hour
These balls are fun and gross looking when you squish them. They are good for stress balls or toss toys. However, they burst open very soon after you start playing with them. There is slime inside, which actually could be fun IF that was what you wanted. If I'd wanted slime, I would have bought slime. I wanted a squishy ball. Also the mesh covering the ball is not very secure and prone to come off. I really wish this product had been of a better quality. I have bought squishy balls before and they have lasted for years but had a different material inside. It seems that one of the reasons why the balls burst so quickly is because there is a plug/cork on the ball that pops loose easily.

Anxiety buster
Great toy for anyone. I put this in my treasure box for my kids, but I like to play with them myself. The only con is the net is literally held together by a zip tie. While this is great in case it gets messed up I can easily fix it by just replacing the zip tie. I have scratched myself on the end of the zip tie. My oldest uses it when she is doing school work or a test to calm her anxiety will be purchasing more!
