Lake and Pond Dye | Easy to Apply | Provides Shade for Fish and Plants (Blue Dry Packet - Single Pack)

I purchased this for our two small ponds. This entire container treats 300,000 gallons. We only have 3000 gallons to treat so we could not use the dye directly in the pouch. My husband asked me for a spoon and he put in 1 Tablespoon which gave the ponds a pretty blue color. That is how strong this is. Just one Tablespoon! Now here's the scoop on the mess. After reading a few reviews, I told him to be EXTREMELY CAREFUL because it would turn things blue. He was so careful and after he put the powder in, he had blue on his shorts, face, nose, shoes, hands, etc. I said, "I told you to be careful" He goes, "I WAS" So this stuff just has a way of finding its way onto things to stain. LOL ...He goes in and takes a shower and comes out with blue at the bottom of his nose! I was laughing so hard. This stuff is BRUTAL!!!!! Don't use it in the wind!

I bought this powdered product after the local TSC was out of Aquashade. The packaging is more than convenient. The recyclable cylinder is easy to open. The dye itself is in a dissolvable package, which is inside of a zip-type plastic bag. I opened it with gloves on, threw the package of dye in the pond, and that was it! No mess whatever. When using the Aquashade liquid, I _always_ would get a little bit of blue on my hands, if not my jeans too. The price is good, and the pond looks great.

This is a product nightmare! When the 3 containers I ordered arrived it was obvious something was wrong - the blue dye powder had leaked out into the shipping box. I carefully opened the first container over the sink and powder went everywhere! The plastic melt-in-your-pond containers had ruptured in all three containers -even though the lids were secure. After quickly and gently closing the lid and saying a prayer, I tried to carefully pour the powder into the pond but it was blown by the wind - half of to who knows where 10% all over me and the rest actually made it into the water. This is OBVIOUSLY a product in much need of development. Do not buy this powder formulation - order the liquid while they still have it! If something "accidental" happens to me suspect my wife - she wants to kill me. There is invisible blue dye all over the kitchen that only becomes obvious when water is applied. Again this is a PRODUCT NIGHTMARE!

I do maintainance for an HOA that has a water fall. I hate aqua shade because I get it on my clothes or hands every time. This product has lasted just as long or longer than liquid IMO. I just made the mistake of throwing it into the rocks and was down wind. I got hit with the powder and was covered in blue dots. Kinda funny but a great product.

My 2 tanks/ponds are blue and so am I (I look like a smurf). :-) Even being careful I managed to blue myself. My tanks have catfish, bass, bluegill, etc. and everything is good. I'll be purchasing this again.Update: Treated my ponds again, no issues over a month later and doing a 2nd treatment. Fish are good as well.

It seems to work well as we had algea before application and now we do not. I wanted our pond clear for swimming. Time to order some more!

This blue pond dye has very economical directions, merely " Throw and Go". The dye is enclosed in a Ziplock bag so how is it supposed to infuse the water? On opening the bag I found 2 more plastic bags - no where does it say that the bags dissolve. I have blue hands, shoes, clothes and the dogs have blue paws. The dye definitely works - zero for instructions.

Works good. Just be careful when you apply it as the dust will stick on anything (arms, hands, legs, face etc) and turn you blue!
