GLORIOUS!
EDIT: UPDATED REVIEW AT THE BOTTOM.That's the only word I can think of to describe this thing (It's the red damask one). Well, okay, so brothel-chique also sort of comes to mind. But seriously, it's beautiful! It truly is! A few minor hits, though:1. The backing, at least on the one we got, is solid dark red. I don't know if the material is the same but it seems to have the same weight and texture so I guess it is. The duvet and the pillows are lie this.2. The pattern on the pillowcases, again, on the ones we got, are perpendicular to the duvet. That's okay with me because this is a really busy set and the perpendicular pattern breaks it up some.3. The material isn't cut so that the pattern breaks evenly across the width of the bed, meaning there's no central row in the pattern to line up with the center line of the bed. It's like they just cut what they need off the roll and don't worry about it. That being the case, you're probably as likely as not to get one that does line up. We didn't and that sucks, but it's not the end of the world. Now, we just got this today so we'll have to see how it holds up over time but we poured over it when it got here looking for holes, stains, loose buttons, etc. and everything passed. Then I washed it and there were no balls of thread in the washer or the lint collector afterward so I think it'll be fine. If not, I'll update the review. It's also worth mentioning that these things are sized really small. I had to buy a king sized duvet just to get adequate length for our full sized bed. I know it's not supposed to come all the way to the floor like a standard bedspread but that's what we wanted so we bought one that would. The king pillow cases are too big, of course, but we just folded the flaps under and we're not going to sleep on them anyway so it's fine.I really can't stress enough how beautiful this thing is. Even calling it glorious is an understatement. The pictures do it no justice at all. It's also very bright. Sure, it's got some burgundy in it but it also has as much or more bright red. The blue is more of a blue/green and the gold is definitely gold. None of it looks drawn on to me, though. By all appearances it's very high quality material. And it is somewhat shiny but then it would be with the colors and the high thread count. I expect this to fade at least a little bit after several washings. And it's cotton so you can't leave it in the dryer. Once it's dry you gotta get it out and on the bed or else it'll be a wrinkly mess.Is it soft? Eeeeh.... I think I'd call it slick, not so much soft. It's not scratchy or stiff or anything, just not velvety soft, but we'll be sleeping under it not on it, so no problem there.UPDATE: So it's been months now and this thing is still awesome. We're cheating and just stuck a blanket in there instead of a comforter because we don't like comforters. It's a real PITA to get a blanket in there right but it's worth the effort. I think once this coronavirus crap clears out we're going to get some cotton batting and take it to an alteration shop and have them turn it into a legit bedspread so we don't have to fight with it every time we want to wash it.So yeah, after months of use it still passes with flying colors. It is beautiful, surprisingly high quality, and so comfortable. But be warned - If you're going to buy an oversized one to stuff with a blanket and use like a bedspread be prepared for a lot of work to get it in there right. You could not put anything in it and use it like it is, but it doesn't look good like that. It really needs something inside it to give it some body.

Amazing! Lush! Beautiful!
I'm loving this duvet set... The shams have deep envelopes and the duvet itself has buttons. They're soft and satiny and the colors are deep and beautiful! I feel like a queen! Perfect purchase!

Great duvet set - but be sure you know what you're buying
I ordered this duvet set, after asking questions about whether the pattern appeared on both sides of the duvet cove and pillowcases and being assured by three users that it did. When the cover arrived, it was patterned on one side and a plain red on the other.I returned the set and asked the seller if they had the set pictured in the listing for sale. They said it was available, but due to material costs it would cost slightly more.I also asked them to make sure that the pattern, which has a broad vertical design to it, had this design running from top to bottom of the bed and pillowcases, not side to side. They asked whether I wanted. the fasteners at the bottom or side(?) of the cover (does *anyone* have fasteners on the side??)Having got these details sorted, the correct sized, orientated and described set arrived within a week or so - and I can report that it is extremely comfortable, hard wearing and colour-fast.So - remember that the illustration in this listing is NOT what you will receive if you order it without contacting the manufacturer, but that - when you get it, it's a great, high-quality set.

How to attach comforter to duvet cover
I rarely write reviews, but do read them; most of them are helpful. When I was considering this purchase, I looked through all the reviews that might tell me if or how the comforter attaches to the duvet cover. I found nothing, until I stumbled across a YouTube video. I thought I'd share what I found.Turn the duvet cover inside out; on each corner you will find a ribbon attached at the four inside corners. Your comforter will have a small diagonal ribbon sewn onto each of its four corners. Tie each corner, then reach inside and turn the duvet cover right-side out. I believe this is the only way you're ever going to get those corners tied together. My only objection, is ... I wish the comforters and the duvet covers more equally matched in size. Be sure to read the dimensions of both. Even though I thought I had carefully done that, the cover is still larger than the comforter inside. All that being said, I am very happy with my purchase. The quality of the fabric is excellent; I'm very happy with my purchase.PS: I just remembered that the description said the reverse side of this duvet cover was "gray" ... it's not! I bought the blue floral pattern and the reverse side is "blue".

I love it
This is a really beautiful duvet cover. I fell in love with the design after considering many microfiber sets. It is 100% cotton floral on one side and solid creamy ivory on the other like the background. We put our queen dark design comforter in and it doesn’t show through and it is true to size and didn’t shrink but I put the dryer on low heat, I could see by the fabric that it would most likely shrink on high. It doesn’t sleep hot even with a comforter inside. I use a sheet underneath so it won’t get washed too frequently but It washed up nicely without the colors bleeding. I ironed it to get a super smooth look but you don’t have to. I found a valance that matched on another website for $80 each! We needed three so I purchased a king size as well and made my own and will use the solid back to make a bed skirt. I use the king shams that came with it and the queen shams for a nice full look. The shams have piping around the edged that give a nice finished look. I searched and purchased two throw pillows on here that match. If you like the design as much as I do I highly recommend it.

Nice design and nicely made.
This is a nice set for my guest room. As long as you have good pillows the shams look and feel nice. Nice set for the price.
