This is a good book for Christians who are not very familiar with what the Bible says about angels. Stone covers angelic accounts in the Bible and shares many modern day stories of angels too. He has good teaching on the kinds of missions angels complete. He answers many questions about angels, such as whether we have guardian angels, how to recognize angels, and why we need messages from angels even though we have the Bible.Even if you've read many books on angels, there may be new insights in this one. I found that to be the case for me. I had not given much thought to why we cannot regularly see spirit beings. Stone reminds us the Bible indicated humans have some type of veil or covering over our eyes preventing us from seeing spirit beings, such as angels. Elisha's servant having his eyes opened to see the chariots in 2 Kings 6 is a good example. He suggests the veil might be a part of our sin nature and that it was initiated at the Fall. (Loc 476/1467) Another insight new to me was just the reality that the Holy Spirit works on the inside of us and angels work through outward circumstances. If you have been wondering about angels, Perry Stone has a new book, Angels Among Us.In Angels Among Us, Stone uses a mixture of Bible verses and stories to tell us how angels reach out to people both today and in the Bible times. Specifically he shares how angels appear in dreams and visions, protect us, act as messengers of salvation, minister to us in death, fight for us in spiritual warfare battles, reveal God's blessings and enact judgment.Angels Among Us is a small hardcover book at about 4 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches in size. This is a great size to stick in your purse or book bag to read when you get a few minutes. At the same time, if you are a Perry Stone fan you may want to know that this book is a condensed version of his previously published book, This Season of Angels. I also like that Angels Among Us is tightly written and gives a lot of good information about angels in a small space. In Angels Among Us, Stone answers a question at the end of each chapter, which is a nice feature: "Can certain animals see angels or sense if they are in the room?"If we have asked God to send angels to protect our children, how do we know they are doing it?" He answers a lot of good questions with both Bible verses and keen insight.I received this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a review. Perry Stone's "Angels Among Us" can easily be read in a day or two. It is a small book examining how angels communicate with us and how they act in our lives.This was not one of Stone's typical books. While small, it is packed with lots of information and is a quick read.  Stone shares what the Bible says about angels, their purpose and mission and how they work in our lives. As always, test what you are reading with Scripture to make sure it aligns with what is being said.Angels interest us but we need to be careful not to worship or idolize them.  "Angels Among Us" is an interesting read but should be handled with prayer. I love learning about how God has allowed us to partner with his holy angels in bringing glory to Him and accomplishing His will in the earth as we pray. I have read many books on this topic and I also enjoy this author a lot and his insightful research and way of teaching so this was an easy choice. This book is a great primer on the topic of angels in general. It is broken down mainly by chapters on different types/functions of God's angels. It is very bible based and has bible reference as well as some present day accounts. I would have liked to see a lot more personal and contemporary true stories but this is a good book that I will wholeheartedly recommend.I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for review at no cost.
