Great Expectations

Great Expectations is a classic novel that everyone should read. I assigned this book as work for my AP Literature students over the summer. The themes make for easy discussion and allow for great student lead seminars. I highly recommend this read; it follows Pip on his journey from adolescents to adulthood. Along the way, he goes through many hardships until he ultimately tries to reach his great expectation.

I LOVE Dickens and this book is not as popular as David Copperfield or Oliver Twist but it's very under appreciated. It's a wonderful tale dealing with changes and growing up and so many things. I'm glad I came across this and that I bought it without thinking about it twice. It's a must read!

You know, I had great expectations for this book, and it totally met my expectations. On a scale of one to great, this book is a great. Expect greatness, because those are some great expectations for this great book. It'll totally meet your great expectations. It's great.

The print is a little small. Frustrated to see a price tag of $3 on it when I paid more just for the shipping.

I bought this as a gift for a student who was interested in Victorian literature. This was the perfect addition to the other purchases I made on Amazon. He loved it.

This was an OK read, not great. Only book of his I had read previously was A Christmas Carol, which was nice. The book deals with issues of social class and ambition as seen through the eyes of the main character Pip. The story follows him from a boy to a middle aged man. I would almost classify this as a chick book, since their is also a romantic subplot. Pip is in love with a women named Estella, who is considered beautiful but very cold and hard. Have to admit, haven't seen any of the movie versions of this, might have to. Sometimes books translate better in movies then reading. Still, think I will read some more Charles Dickens books, this book hasn't put me off. The writing style isn't to hard to understand.

Ordered this for my step-daughter. She just loves it.

It Doesn’t need introduction. Really enjoyable to read.

Had to buy a great expectation book for my English class and even though I find these kinds of books boring, this book had a few bits of excitement. The book came in perfect condition but could of had more space for notes.
