IR not wifi remote - but has almost as much power as a wifi remote.
This is an awesome one in all remote that also has the ability to multi-connect dumb tech (as long as the remote is in the database) - so that you can have one button press turn on your tv, soundbar and pvr with the ability to specify which unit controls your volume etc.Occassionally if you have numerous multi-connect options the remote may occasiionally get out of sync and not turn on or switch an item, however this is resolved with the handy help button, which asks you questions which based on your answer fixes any issue with the multi-connect. To date it hasn't failed to resolve the issue and retreive the mult-connect state I want. There are spare buttons which you can programme to replicate any button on any item within the multi-connect.You also have the ability to swith from multi-connect mode to individual items and to switch your remote to a device remote and back to multi-connect etc. There are two minor issues:1) Database isn't complete, so check online first if your item's remotes are in the database (note they may be under a slightly different name - Humax PVR are a point in case).2) You have to use a PC to programme this remote via a USB connection (cable is included).(This programme is pretty easy to use).

A brilliant device that has tamed my remote nightmare
I've owned this product for less than a week and already I love it. We're probably a little unusual in the number of AV products we have; the TV, Blu-Ray player and Freeview PVR are normal along with a Denon AV amp. But then we also have a DVD recorder (kept because it can play the few Region 1 DVDs I own) and a YouView box (because PlusNet gave it to me and it still has some recordings on I'd like to keep) and a Raspberry Pi acting as a Plex client. The number of remotes was, as you can imagine, out of control. After looking at the specs I thought that a One For All remote would do the trick. Well, it might have done but I couldn't get it to change inputs on my Denon amp - the manual is so hazy I wasn't even sure if it was supposed to. OFA's tech support was useless, answering a question I hadn't asked and failing to give me the answer I needed. So the OFA went back and I coughed up the extra for this Harmony remote. The difference was immediately apparent. OFA had an app which connected to the remote via Bluetooth which made life a bit easier but only really did half the job: it enables you to find codes for your kit (a bit hit and miss with regard to the Freeview PVR and I could get the YouView box to work at all) but addressed nothing else.By contrast, the Harmony app was clear and concise, making the whole setup a doddle. It warned me that there were multiple code sets for two of my appliances (the Freeview PVR and the DVD recorder) but that it had downloaded the most common set. These worked straight away. But it also lets you reprogram any of the keys without accessing lots of codes, add favourite channels for watching TV and set up multiple activities, three of which can be placed onto quick access buttons. Best of all, it all worked immediately exactly as it was supposed to. It's totally worth the extra over the OFA.Just one side note: since it works via infra-red, as all such devices do, it can't control the Raspberry Pi since I operate this using a Bluetooth keyboard. It still means that my bunch of seven remotes is now down to just two. What's not to like!

Great unit, but Apple TV Integration is not very good.
A great little unit. Set up is relatively easy, you just need to 1) create an account with the Logitech App, and register your device, 2) input the manufacturer and model numbers of your kit, 3) set up what kit is on or off for a given activity, and then 4) upload your settings from your PC to the Logitech Remote. Only 4 stars though, as the Apple TV integration is not that intuitive, you need to go through multiple button presses to go between "Activities" and "Devices", for this reason, we went back to using the Apple TV remote instead of the Logitech Remote to work the Apple TV, which kind of defeats the object of a single remote control.

A very good IR device. Replaces 5 separate remotes for me.
Relatively easy to set up. It has less capability to the Ultimate One as one might expect for the price.

Returned For Refund...
The one-star rating is for this specific transaction not the Harmony 665 itself, which is extremely good. I bought this refurbished remote to replace a worn out Harmony 600 so that I could copy the programmed sequences from the old model to the new one without having to waste a few hours programming it from scratch - which is straightforward but a bit of a pain. However, when I plugged the refurbished 665 into my computer and opened up the MyHarmony software I received a message that "THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN DISABLED AND CAN NO LONGER BE SYNCHRONISED OR SET UP." I contacted Logitech who told me that it meant that the unit had previously been reported as faulty and so was now locked and couldn't be used, programmed or synchronised. So I returned it to Amazon for a refund. No problem. I then bought a similar unit from a popular online auction site, but on receiving the confirmation email I realised that it was being sold by the same seller! Expecting the worst, when the new one arrived I plugged it into my Mac, opened up the My Harmony software ... and it all worked perfectly, taking a bout two minutes to copy data I'd programmed for the old remote. My guess would be that refurbished sellers have a way of unlocking locked units and this time someone forgot to do it. The remote I bought elsewhere from the same seller works perfectly, so, on balance, I'd say you could buy with a degree of confidence - especially since Amazon's returns policy is generally good. But the hassle was nevertheless annoying.

Macht was es soll. Kaufempfehlung!
