Pros:• The white light is pleasantly warm.• Dimming works well. The controls are easy to use.• The flashlight end is a nice alternative.• The hook works well.• The latch for the battery compartment makes changing batteries a breeze.• No need to worry about replacing the battery with something hard to find. It takes AAA batteries.• It's small enough to fit in a hand or pocket quite comfortably.Cons:• The flashlight isn't especially bright (the lantern itself does get surprisingly bright). It's plenty bright for my camping needs.• Though it is designed so it can stand with the lantern side up, it doesn't have a wide enough base to stay standing if it's put on a shaky table.

I like the size and weight. But that's all. Because of it's shortcomings, it is not for my back country or emergency bags.You get the light and no batteries. The written instructions aren't very good at explaining the flashing feedback for the lock feature. Yes, it locks with a 3 second button push. There are no instructions imprinted or molded into the light itself.It also switches modes with button pushes. Such as a quick 2 button push to switch from lantern to spot mode. Then hold the button to wait for it to change brightness.So, if I hold this around for an emergency light and not used much, it is not intuitive to remember how to get the light you want (bright lantern, dim lantern, or spot beam).It isn't rated for really wet conditions such as a dunk in the river so this isn't a reliable light for canoe, kayak, or a side pack pocket where it might get very wet in the rain.Oh it is silly not to include a strobe mode.Isn't worth it. I'd estimate it is an $8 drug store bargain light masquerading as "mountain gear"

Great addition to your EDC, paired mine with 4 Endloop AAA batteries. Has a lockout, and a separate flashlight in the bottom, area light in the top. Weather resistant. I wouldn't dunk it for long. Bright enough to read by, or jumpstart a car, walk the dog, fits in the palm of your hand.In a blackout, there are ALWAYS plenty of AA and AAA batteries... might not light up half the house like a D battery lantern, but it'll certainly light up the bathroom or the kitchen.Wish they made a AA device with a similar design and footprint!

Got this for a light weight way of lighting a campsite after a day of hiking. Just enough light to avoid tripping over everything. Lasts long enough to get a weekend trip on a single set of batteries. I just hook it to the ridge line of a tarp and I'm set for the night.

Absolutely love it!!! Smaller than I expected (I could have read the measurements) It fits in the palm of my hand and is powerful! Lights up whole room, great for camping as well. Has a flashlight on the bottom and a hook for hanging that can be tucked away when not is use. Arrived quick!!!

Size of a lighter, lasted our whole 3 weeks of hiking, lights our 3 person tent well and doubles as a compact flashlight. One of my favorite pieces of lightweight hiking equipment. Well made, well done!

Brilliant VERY well made product, perfect size, very bright, dual lights, hanging clip. perfect 'zippo' lighter size to easily fit in a pocket, and uses just four slim AAA batteries that seem to last forever!VERY BRIGHT diffused dome which is dimmable, and switches back on in the same state, brilliant! no more eye blitzes in the middle of the night!!-perfect for hanging (in a tent) or even placing on a tableAlso has a bright front beam torch, handy.Sturdy on/off switch which is easy to find in the dark! controls on/off and the dimmer/flash/ functions.Fold out hanging clip too - again nice and sturdy.Takes four slim AAA batteries in a double clip sealed unit, so again well made and Waterproof.Forget the knock of Chinese copy rubbish, once you've used this you will 'see' the difference.This is CLEARLY well designed AND well made.Batteries just seem to last forever too.WOULD highly recommend.

Drains battery like a mofo but excellent for a week or a long weekend of extensive use. Very bright and the flashlight function means it's the only light you need.. would be good if it had a lanyard attachment as well as the hook

The combination of softer tent light and handy tight beam is ideal.
