It's a two piece case. The outer dark purple part doesn't fit as well as I would like it to, but it works well enough not to go through the hassle of returning it.

It fits.. but it's not lavender and dark purple, it's magenta and light pink..UPDATE:the SUPER thin metal (?) piece at the bottom broke--no dropping the iPod or anything.
