Cute story
This is a nice story and it kind of introduces you to the main 6 ponies. Surely your favorite is amongst those 6. The pictures are nice and bright and they look like the currant ponies. The story is a bit hard for a new reader to handle but that is why it is a level 1 read together book. My daughter 4 really enjoys reading this with me.

But it is a hard easy reader. There is too much text and too ...
Yes, this is popular. Yes, many of my students want to borrow it because . . . ponies. . . But it is a hard easy reader. There is too much text and too many hard words and not nearly enough decodable words for a beginning reader. If the ponies motivate your reader and they are not easily frustrated, then go for it. But I think that most of my students that borrow this one from me will end up having their parents read it to them.

Great for kids
I'm a brony so I get anything with MLP in it. So, I got this just to see what it was. It's just a very short (32 pages) book about the Mane 6, like their interests, what they're like. That sort of thing. The text is big and basic and it's fully illustrated on every page. it's intended to teach kids how to read better. It's not like the twilight sparkle and the crystal heart spell book or the comics. If you're a parent who has kids that like MLP: this would be a really good buy. The book also lists four things for kids to find while reading. Those are Unicorn, Dragon, Orchard and Letter. Text scavenger hunt, basically. There's also a place at the beginning where they can write their name.If you're a brony who just wants more MLP things: you can justify the purchase by the pictures which look really good. Some come straight from the show, others are drawn for the book but they look the same. The book only costs a few dollars anyway. The passport to reading level 1 thing means:(Straight from the book)Passport to Reading Level 1: Reading Together (Read short words in simple sentence structures together to begin a reader's journey)Passport to Reading Level 2: Reading out Loud (Encourage developing readers to sound out words in more complex stories with simple vocabulary)Passport to Reading Level 3:Reading Independently (Newly independent readers gain confidence reading more complex sentences with higher word counts)Passport to Reading Level 4: Ready to Read More (Readers prepare for chapter books with fewer illustrations and longer paragraphs)So, I'd definitely recommend this to parents who have kids who like MLP but older fans can still get something out of the pictures.

Must Have for All MLP Fans
This was a fun little book to read to my little girls who btw are huge My Little Pony fanatics. They know "everypony", her story, background, colors, etc. This was actually super fun for me to read aloud to them, because I too was able to learn about the ponies and be slightly up-to-date with what my kids thought was cool.. while trying to match pony voices with my own.. (which btw made my girls laugh!)I would recommend this to parents of 5-10 year olds. A must have for any MLP fan.

Perfect for the pony lover in your life... or in our case, the "brony"!
A cute inexpensive book for the lover of Ponies in your life. My four-year-old LOVES this book. It's an introduction to their world, so all the ponies get a spotlight in this one. Perfect size for the Easter Bunny to sneak into our son's basket! As a parent, I also appreciate a concise book... it's nice for those selections they want to hear a hundred times. This is a nice length. Not too long that my brain turns off, but just long enough that it can be the only book before bedtime. And nice illustrations!

Very Cute Book
Very cute book. My 3 year old loves My Little Pony and this book was perfect. The pictures are great. Each pony is introduced and has a little story explaining their own special power and what they like to do. Couldn't beat the price either...$2.38!

~ BEST BUY FOR KIDS WHO LOVE MLP ~
Sent it to my 4 yr old niece who loves MLP and It quickly became one of her favorite books. She adores both the story line and the artwork and it is helping her to learn how to read. Has a fun scavenger hunt and a place to write your name. Excellent quality, can't go wrong with the price. Kids that love MLP will definitely love this book!

Cute story for the MLP obsessed 6 year old
Our 6 year old loves My Little Pony. She is also beginning to read so this book was perfect for her. She can't read it by herself yet though and I wouldn't really call it a beginner book. But it has her interested in learning to read more! Cute story introduces you to the main characters.
