Simple and fun
This set is old school without a lot of bells and whistles but it is so fun! It’s great for the younger ones who love hot wheels but aren’t ready for the more complex sets, and it’s great for parents who don’t want toys that make a whole bunch of noise. The simple mechanics of this set is really cool and good for little physics lessons too. The only downside is some models of hot wheels don’t work well with the launcher (the strike point hits weird on different cars) but it’s a small problem. The car it comes with works super well. This was super fun Christmas morning and we still play with it all the time

Unique drag race start gate - good fun
Like this set a lot. Bought this along with other track and stunt loops for the grandkids to build with. This piece was hard to find and over priced, but it is very similar to a set I had as a kid that I enjoyed immensely. The kids like the drag race design and the starting gate that stops you from false starting. The end gate allows you to see which car won in a close race. You can add track to the set for a longer drag. Good fun to see who has the fast reactions and the fastest car.

Ready! Set! GO!!
I bought the Hot Wheels Dragstrip from the other sellers section of Amazon for $13. For $13, it's not bad, but it's not worth anything over $15. The dragstrip was super easy to put together, but the flag and drop down stand each have a sticker you have to put on, which are annoying to line up straight but no problem. The flag is flimsy and is hard to stand up straight for each race. It usually falls to the right, so it's pretty much useless in races as I have to eyeball the winning car. Some cars won't work in the launcher. If the car has any space between the top of the back or the bottom, the launcher won't shoot it off correctly, which is a bummer because some cars are just useless. There is also an indention in the middle of the track where the car goes in bay. If a car has a narrow wheel base, then it's useless because it'll hit the top of this indention and not race correctly. I'm not sure of why it was designed this way, but there is no purpose for it.I also use the dragstrip without the drop down, because some cars like a Hummer or Offroad truck do not fit beneath the flags and will hit it before getting out of the bay. They do, however, fit in the launcher, which is nice.Overall, it is a fun toy. The launcher is nice for bigger Hot Wheels, but has it's flaws. The drop down is a good concept, but has it's flaws, and the finish line flag is a good idea, but has it's flaws. 4/5 Stars for $13, but if I spent more money on it, then I would give it 3/5 Stars.

Super Fun toy
You never know which of a child's gifts will be the favorite at Christmas, but this one took first prize! We liked that this one is ok for younger kids than most of the other Hotwheels tracks. Once I figured out that I was trying to put the orange track pieces on upside down, it came together easily. Not all Hotwheels cars can pass through the track FYI. It is great for a kid who wants to play alone or with a parent or friend. Highly recommend. It is lightweight and you can carry it to any room of the house that has room for it. Maybe don't point it toward a sofa so you don't have to fetch hotwheels all day.

Not just for kids!
I love my drag strip and I'm 55 years old.I sat in the floor with my wife for hours racing our cars.Make sure you get the smaller Hot Wheel style cars as the bigger ones won't clear the starting gate. Also, I bought some extra track to make mine a little longer. The extra track doesn't cost much and is well worth it.Good luck and have fun!

Works great!
I was on the fence about buying this for my kid but I didn't run into any of the problems I read about in negative reviews. If you use the right cars, not too thick or tall, they make it through the starting gate easily. The flag always falls to the side of the car that wins for us. Track is a good price, it's easy to assemble, and it can be lengthened with the standard Hot Wheels track sections. Ours came with a red Fast Fish car, which seems to come with a lot of track sets. My son now has three red and a couple of teal and orange.
