This drill bit was not a consistent 16mm along its length, meaning that the bit would bind up at certain points along its length. This makes it difficult and almost dangerous to use - think of a drill running at full chat half way through the hole and then, because it isn't a consistent thickness, stopping abruptly whilst you are holding it to imagine the capacity to hurt you.Add to that, the steel that it is made from is soft as fuc....butter - enlarging holes (through mild steel, in my case) killed it after 2 holes to the point where sharpening on a grinder couldn't help.This drill bit will be filed in the bin and I'll have to spend some money and stop messing around and buy a big boy cobalt drill bit.Terrible value for money, especially when you consider the time wasted not being able to drill the holes you want, broken wrists, and when you've recovered, the time to procure a good quality drill bit. Avoid at all costs (unless you need to drill a hole in something softer than cheese).

I ordered the drill bit for a one-off task of boring out a pulley. There are many more expensive drill bits available from such as Bosch and Dewalt, and few cheaper. The price fitted my budget perfectly as I only intended it for periodic use. I was amazed at the quality. It was well packed and extremely well ground with split point form.It went through mild steel without effort, no noise either with a little cutting oil applied. The hole was clean and the exit of the boring was crisp. Faithfull tools have been around a long time which goes to prove they have stood the test of time. I will definitely choose Faithfull tools for my next purchase.
