Songs From The Seventies [DVD]

Barry Manilow's Songs from the Seventies is a wonderful experience. I have never been to a live Manilow concert but this was such a great experience. His energy was unbelievable! His selection of songs was breath-taking. I knew about him in the 70s but was busy making a living....now in retirement I have rediscovered him. Above all other singers and entertainers I believe that Barry Manilow is like Steve Jobs. Manilow came with the gift of music "to the heart of man" and Jobs came with the way of communication all over the world. It amazes me that Manilow has taken his show on the road across the continents and the Internet allows us to tap into his heart/art music. Without the internet, Manilow's music could not be heard throughout the world.The Manilow 70's concert is a treasure. How wonderful that he is still tripping over the world to allow others to experience his art. He looks so good and brings such beauty as a "Showman" to his classics the 70's songs. I am experiencing Manilow at 70 and he has made me fall in love with his songs again. Wow!

If you are a Manilow fan, as my wife and I are, and especially if you love '70s music, as we do (we dated and were married in the 70s), you simply cannot go wrong with this DVD concert. Barry is in fine form and incredibly enthusiastic as is the audience (we know it's probably an invited audience but who cares - the audience is attractive and fun to watch watching Barry). Excellent audio and video quality. Even if you are not necessarily a Manilow fan, one would still have to appreciate the great craftsmanship that is apparent here throughout. A definite concert must-have.

Barry Manilow's PBS special is just what I expected. He delivers his best to his audiences. It is old music but it is good music with moving lyrics. His acoustic arrangements highlight his talent and the talents of those on the instruments. The PBS special was like a comforting cup of hot chocolate on a snowy, winter night. You will love the interaction of Manilow to his audience. His connection with his audience is real. He is not "up" on a stage this time. There is a walking ramp he uses that unites him with the audience in delivering an enjoyable "feel good" hour of music.

My mom loves it. Brings back great memories for her. DVD in excellent condition.

My favorite singer in the World! Barry makes the whole World Sing!

I first saw this video on an airplane last year and loved it. I was immediately hooked as a Manilow fan. Never really listened to Manilow music before seeing this. HEs a great performer, some say greater than ever. And this show is awesome. He walks around the room, shaking hands with audience, even dancing with some. And his last number is just him a microphone and the empty room with chairs. But he fills the room with magic like u were there with him.

My Barry Manilow DVD is sensational. Barry at his best. A must for Barry fans.

アメリカのPBS（教育テレビ系）で昨年末に放送されたライブ。昨年発売されビルボード初登場５位を記録した"The Greatest Songs Of The Seventies"に収録された７０年代のヒット曲を盛り込んだ楽しいライブ。何より６０歳を超えたバリーの伸び伸びとした歌声が印象的。もちろん、バリーの数々の名曲も歌われますし、新アレンジの"Copacabana"も素敵です。なお、輸入盤DVDはリージョン１です。
