The « king of mushrooms » due to its health benefits is used as a mild and pleasant drink. Very beneficial for health, it is traditionally used for many purposes (especially by Russian and some North-American native tribes). Nowadays, many scientific studies about Chaga mushroom are being conducted. It has been demonstrated that Chaga harvested in cold climates of North-Eastern Canada has the most antioxidant capacity (more than all other origins in the study). Harvested during winter time, as it should be, our northern harvested Chaga is packed with polyphenols and has an ORAC value (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) of 345858 for 100g of ground Chaga. As a comparison, 100g of green tea leaves shows a value 1/3 Chaga levels. This makes Chaga mushroom potentially the most antioxidant superfood on the planet!

Good, but time consuming
They say if it's good enough then it's worth the wait. This is no exception, you have to brew this just like you would cook a good chunk of meat...low and slow baby! The end result is a very rich and smooth tea.

Great for tea
I purchased so that I could make ice tea and I simply like the taste and having the option of having a tea other than the other herbal teas. I am not a hot tea drinker unless I am sick and then I drink what is called Gypsy Cold Care tea when I feel something coming on. I love nature's medicinal pretty much anything - I search and find the problem. My field is holistic health and this tea does serve a purpose as well.

Good quality
Right size chunks for brewing all with a crust. I use 1 chunk in medium kettle and brew it about 7-9 batches. first 3-4 have to be diluted with water since they brew strong. Good flavor, not bitter. Will buy it again.
