CheckUp Testing Strips x 50 (Protein Urine Test Strips for Cats & Dogs)

My cat has urinary issues and it’s really nice to be able to test him at home between vet visits. They seem to work; when he pees in the house the test shows he has protein and when he is behaving it shows that he doesn’t so I think that means it works. I typically test once a month or so, or anytime I change is diet or medication routine.

My veterinarian found my dog to have too much protein in his urine. The veterinarian put him on medication. So, I bought these strips to see if the medication is working. I bought these strips to track his protein levels. So far, it gives me an idea if he has protein in his urine. However, I would say it is hard to interpret the results. If the urine has protein in it the stick will turn green. But then it is hard to match the shade of green to the protein scale on the back of the bottle. All I know if the stick is yellow, that is good, but my stick is green so it is not good and the dog has not been cured. We will do another urinalyses with more precise results from the vet and go from there.

I used this with my cat when she was in her cat liter box. By reaching in immediately after she peed it worked out fine. The only problem is the testing media, on the tip of the test strip, is very delicate. I learned this when I attempted to wipe a few grains of the liter off the media reading end of the strip. Instead it removed the media as well, essentially destroying it as a record and, as a result, I didn't have the strip available to take with me to the vet. I learned that lesson and it won't happen again.

It was easy to use and confirmed a suspected infection in my cat. Having just paid over $300 for the regular care of both our cats, I didn’t think I could afford an unnecessary visit to the vet. Using this along with some of the hydrophobic litter, I was able to collect enough urine to test it myself and provide a sample for the vet when it looked positive.

Our cat has had multiple UT infections and we started to notice Her bathroom habits changing. Her vet appt was a few days out and this helped give us an idea if it was another uti or not.

I have an elder Scottie boy that I was worried if he had Diabetes (or Cushings)...This came yesterday and I tested him...to my relief, he doesn't have Diabetes. This product was easy to use and just follow the directions...

Very easy to use and read results. Hardest part is getting the urine to test.😀

The directions on the bottle do not specify that you need to buy a special kitty litter, so buyer be aware, also the colors on the strip differentiating a health problem vs not a problem is very slight.
