EvansDrum Heads - G1 Clear Tom Drumhead, 14 Inch

My other drum heads are G2's, but I decided on this product, the G1, for my 16 inch floor since I seldom use it. Saved around $7. Sounds good to me, but my hearing isn't the best. Visually not as clear as the G2's, a bit milky by comparison.

I've used these heads for over 10 years on a variety of drum sets and a variety of 16 Inch toms. From hanging toms to floor toms with legs, they work great on all of them. Any time I have a drum that has anything else it never quite sounds as good as these and when I change the heads to G1 clear heads they always sound way better . It's the perfect balance of sustain and cut.I've tried using EC Resonant and Resonant heads too from Evans, but I felt like there was too much sustain on them. These work great.I'm sure they would work fine as batter heads as well. I just personally like two ply batter heads: G2 clear, G2 coated, or EC2.

Awesome for autographs

These G12 heads fill a gap between G1 and G2. (or Remo Ambassador and Emperor)They are a single 12mil ply so they sound like single ply...but they are just a little heavier and durable and controlling. I have found G1s too light and G2s too heavy. These are in a real good place between!

What can I say? Easy to tune, great sound, affordable. These are just great. I haven't compared them to any Remo products yet, but I can't imagine any other drum head in existence being much better than these. These heads offer a very long sustain if you tune them that way... My floor tom sings for a good 10 seconds with Evan reso's. Great heads. Wondering if you should buy them? You should!

Good standard drumhead

I bought this along with a G2 for the top of the drum. The G2 is clean and clearly new but this g1 appears to have been used as it has smudge marks and is generally dirty. It seems as though it sat as a bottom skin already. It’s usable but don’t charge new rate. Not impressed.
