I used this in conjunction with RCA to screw terminal adaptors to run speaker level audio approx 10m over Cat5e cable. Despite what many folks say, that this shouldn't work, it works and sounds just fine to my ears.Knocked a star off because these adaptors only use four of the eight conductors, using all eight would lower the resistance and reduce losses over a longer distance of cable.

Rubbish idea and I should have known better. Buzz like crazyDon’t buy these. Get an active audio over CAT RX/RX instead.

These use a mix of 3 pairs for the audio signal (pins 5 to 8 are R-,L+,R+,L-) instead of 2 twisted pairs (1&2, 3&6, 4&5, 7&8). A specially wired plug will be required at each end of the CAT5 cable to make best use of these (or to allow them to work through a Y splitter).

Used these and the hum was TERRIBLE!
