Death Bringer: Skulduggery Pleasant, Book 6

I ran across comments in a book club site about this series. It's listed as "adolescent" but all adults enjoyed the book(s) for themselves. After I read the author's Dedication in one of the books, I knew he was a hilarious guy and purchased the first three...then more. The stories themselves are great, and I laugh out loud at the "digs" and just banter between the characters. I am "there" when I read, and picture anyone of my "nasty, sharp-witted nieces" as the girl, and most often Chris Pratt as Skulduggery. ...and China is between Michelle Pfeiffer and Katherine Zita Jones. Author, Derek Landy is the friend who always has you in stitches from laughing--I gotta hang out with that guy.

My daughter got the very first book and after reading it gave it to me to read, while sitting there watching me as I was reading it. I truly enjoy the book and could not put it down and could not stop laughing. The Skulduggery books appeals to such a broad audience and is really good clean fun. We learn more about Darquesse in the Death Bringer and there are a few important surprises about other characters too. It absolutely still contains Landy's trademark humour.

The series has been getting steadily darker and more ethically/morally challenging, and this is no exception. I've greatly enjoyed reading these on my lunch breaks. It's perfect to dive in and out of.

Another thrilling episode in the Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie series. Non stop action all the way. Although one of the longer books, it is a quick read, hard to put down. Looking foward to the next book. This a series my whole family enjoys and we have shared with others. Read by 4 different people the first week we had the book and with a waiting list to borrow it.

This book was amazing I find that most authors depend on description to make their books interesting but Derek Landy interests the reader with this mix of sarcasm and full on actionThis is truly a great piece of literature for boys and girls and the fact that he is an Irish author really shows that our country can produce varied arts.IrishBookworm

Although, in most book series, I think that the origional is always the best, I have pushed my stereotype aside when reading this book. It was beautifuly writen, and I found my jaw dropping at some of the twists and turns that were woven into this peice of art. It's a must-read for all Skulduggery Pleasant fans!

Excellently written, witty and ironic humour in this book that is one of a long series (12 books).
