Oof! Buyer beware. Ill fitting and highly painful!
Oof! Buyer beware. Highly painful. I bought these insoles based on the plethora of positive reviews in the hiking community, but found them to be very ill fitting and highly uncomfortable. The length and width were fine, and I only needed to trim a tiny bit off the top to fit my hiking boots (Solomon X Ultra 3), but found the arch support lacking and furthermore way too steep and narrow in the heel cup. In other words, the arch support seems to be set way back at the heel, creating a very painful pressure point on the inside of the heel (circled in red in my photos).Other reviewers here have pointed out this same problem, and the problem was immediate on first wear for me. Never even took these out on an actual hike, they were immediately painful on my feet just walking across my living room floor.Check out my photos, the area circled in yellow is where the natural arch support should be, but the hard plastic arch support is most prominent, dramatically so, on the inside of the heel cup in the area circled in red.

Amazing for fallen arches and Plantar Fasciitis! (*Had to order oversized insole, trim to fit)
I've purchased many Superfeet insoles over the years and found most are somewhat small for me. The overall length is always ok, but the heel cup is not quite wide enough, nor is the arch support long enough. I used to be a heavy guy, carrying a lot more muscle when I ran, resulting in fallen arches and flat feet over the years. Perhaps too many sprained ankles from large rocks, gravel in Iraq. After owning/using many different pairs of Superfeet and recently suffering from Plantar Fasciitis, I tried a pair of Superfeet GO Pain Relief Comfort insoles, but the pain continued. I carefully reviewed the instructions received with my insoles, and tested the heel fit again.(typically wear a US size 10.5 run shoe) I was surprised to find that the heel cup was not nearly wide enough based on Superfeet included insert, even without socks and arch not nearly long enough either.Hence, I immediately knew I needed to order a larger size even though my feet were technically within the correct size chart. I wound up sending the GO Pain Relief insoles back and ordering an oversized Trailblazer Comfort instead and simply trimmed off some of forefoot length for custom fit.I've got a perfect fit now and would like to share, they're freaking Amazing! One week later, no more heel pain at all. Not even when taking my first steps on the hard kitchen floor in the morning. For best results my doc suggested I wait 6-8 weeks for all tendons/ligaments including any Achilles damage to properly heal before running again. When starting back up, I should gradually build up my runs to prevent recurrence.Long story.. Never assume you have the proper/best fit with you insole. Those with flat feet or fallen arches due to years of gradual soft tissue damage resulting from frequent exercise, ankle sprains, etc may actually need MORE arch support than an arch test may suggest. Heavier body types require wider and deeper cups for better stability, heel protection. Also, for Plantar Fasciitis, it is CRITICAL to choose an insole that has a longer, more re-inforced (harder, less flex) support bracket between the heel and forefoot to protect the Plantar Fascia ligament. The last part should be finding the right shoe to fit your insoles (i.e. neutral, with adequate width for oversize insole, etc) and possibly some thin running socks to match.Just hoping all my research and past experiences can help a few others who have suffered.

MORE CUSHION THAN GREENS
Currently thru-hiking the USA and was using Superfeet Green. Towards the end of the day I found the greens weren't cushioning very much. I switched to the Trailblazers and felt an immediate and positive change in cushioning. However, the arch support is not as much. Therefore, if you have extra high arches (which the greens are designed for) and you need extra cushioning (which the Trailblazers are designed for), you might need to put extra arch support material on the Trailblazers (which I did) or find something else (maybe Timberlands?). iLikeMike.com

Blood blisters and burned out feet
Used these to hike Mt Whitney (22miles and 14505' elevation) and came away with blown out feet. Inner heels have extremely large blood blisters and incredible amount of foot pain. Wasn't worth the cost. Pack weight was about 18 lbs. Superfeet support recommended this model due to the deep heel protection, but it didn't add any value or comfort. The climb was 3 days ago and I still cant wear shoes due to the painful blisters.

Made my foot numb
I bought a pair of the Trailblazers to go in my Crispi Nevadas after hearing good things about the SuperFeet brand. Not knowing what insole to go with, I headed over to their website and went through their guide, answering questions about what type of use the insoles were for, what shape my foot was, what the use was for, etc. I specifically selected that I had experienced pain on the bottom of my feet from the factory insoles that came in the Crispi's, and it suggested these.I broke them in for a month wearing them nearly daily before doing 50 miles in the backcountry. By the 3rd day, the bottom of my right foot was going numb and I was dreading putting my boots on everyday. The lack of padding and support in these for $50 is astonishing. I've hiked and worked thousands of hours and miles in everything from Rocky Boots, Danners, Scarpas, and Hoffmans. Nothing has been so uncomfortable as these.

They're good, but I wanted more.
I can't fault these inserts as they are exactly as described. I've had the regular "green" superfeet inserts before and these do seem to absorb more shock in the heel and ball of my foot than the old ones did. They were definitely an upgrade from the worn out inserts that they replaced. However, I don't think they're quite enough. They could be more form fitting around my foot (they feel a little loose still), they could also absorb more impact (there's gel, but it's not substantial). I was considering a pair for my work shoes, however I will stick with the more impact-absorbing Timberland Pro inserts that I find more comfortable. They do fit just fine in normal running shoes, so I wouldn't worry about them taking up too much volume. I'm sure they're great for some people, but they weren't right for me.

superfeet Trailblaze Size E (42-44 EU) for 9.5 UK walking shoe
I've used superfeet insoles for years and for someone who has low arches and in the past suffered a bout of very painful Plantar fasciitis I highly recommend the superfeet Trailblaze insoles for backpacking and hill walking. The insoles take a few weeks to bed in so don't think they are not working when you first try them, the insoles need to gradually mould into your shoes and foot shape. For the shoes in the photo I had to trim 2mm from the toe end to get the perfect fit.Remove the original insoles from the shoe and use this as a guide to cut the superfeet insoles to the correct size. Tip: always cut the insoles bigger to start with and trim a mm off each time to get the perfect fit.

Great insoles
Well having tried a lot of different insoles I finally bit the bullet and got these superfeet trail comfort.befor these I got some normal trespass they are nice and soft but I found my feet ached and felt tired after 6 or 7 miles so I got some Granger's they felt bad from the start so binned them after a mile walk.the hard plastic cuts the soft padding right on the big toe ball.so took a deep breath and paid 36 quid for the superfeet the 1s I got were the D size but I'm at the lower end of it but what you do is buy the 1 that fits your foot not your boot it as to support your arch then you cut it to fit your boot after it fits your arch.id read reviews say you had to break them in so went for a few miles they felt great straight away and only got better my arch feels well supported and even feel like I get a bit of spring but that could just be me. They feet well in the heel cup I have very wide feet and boots were a special wide fitting model the insoles fit great so I would recommend I don't have flat feet but the extra arch support just helps my feet it's only 4 stars it would be 5 if they were a bit cheaper but that's just me been a tite git lol.

Overrated? Not sure but caused me to get exercise-induced vasculitis
Initially they felt good and supportive. At the end of my hike my feet still felt sore however. They did not perform any better than my current insoles. I have expensive boots so maybe they cannot improve on those??So for that part, they did not perform. What was more concerning is that after the walk I immediately suffered from exercise-induced vasculitis ( Hikers rash amongst other names ).Changed my socks for the second hike with these insoles and got it again. Replaced my old insoles and no further problems. So beware. It's not dangerous but if you get a rash around the lower leg after using these, then they are no good for you. Mine have gone back to Amazon and refunded.

Sized right - comfortable straight off and still great after 150 kms + hard hiking
Can't recommend enough. Unlike some others, no need to trim to fit. Sold in real sizes and slipped into my hiking boots straight away. Initially they feel a little hard, but only when putting on the boots. Once I started walking - mmmmmm comfort - and great support. I've done over 150 km since of hard hiking and my feet love them. One thing to note - if buying for hiking, don't skimp on the socks. Pair these insoles with good socks (I love the Darn Tough brand) and you'll have good support for many many miles

Very comfortable, but damaged my boots.
To be fair, the insoles did feel very comfortable and supportive. However, after only a couple of uses they damaged the lining in the heel area of my boots, compromising their waterproofing.I raised this issue with Superfeet and I am entirely satisfied with the response and resolution I received. So I would say proceed with caution, as these insoles may have issues with some specific boots, but worth a try as they were very comfortable. I am certainly not put off trying Superfeet again.
