Fantastic!
I’ve been looking for a book with traditional folk songs for quite some time that were simple to begin with, but continued to grow in difficulty. This books has been great. We love the videos...just such a bonus!! I’m planning to buy the whole series because of this feature. I’m learning with my kids ages 14, 13, 11, 9, and 8 (and our 4and6 YOs are learning simple chords too and singing with us). It’s delightful. I highly recommend the book.

Easy to play tunes for a real beginner
I am loving this book! I just picked a ukulele a month and a half ago and with this instruction book and the video course I am playing songs and entertaining friends and family. I like the variety and way progression of songs from simple to more challenging for me as a beginner. I am planning on ordering a few more like this in the series to expand my repertoire! I just have to give my fingers a rest or I would be strumming all day!

Good for beginners.
Book is very easy to follow and cord introduction seems easy as well. Videos are good if you don’t know the song and don’t have any other way to learn it. As far as watching the videos to learn to play the cords and fingerings; I don’t find it very useful. Overall good for beginners.

Ukulele Sisters understand beginners!
I was so happy that I found these books! The Uke Sisters are so down to earth and make learning fun! The accompanying videos are very helpful because she actually shows you exactly how to place your fingers and how it sounds. I feel it has helped me so much, I just bought the Christmas songbook for myself and a friend so we can play Christmas music together! They also send you free downloads for other songs every week or so:)

A mixed bag
The book is a decent guide to teaching one how to play the ukulele. The song selection is pretty decent. It also has few of the songs presented in different key signatures, and a few others in melody, accompaniment and/or solo arrangements. However, the book was not proof read before printing. A few pieces have errors. The second page of the tab notation on the Ash Grove accompaniment (page 61) is not the accompaniment but the solo piece (exactly the same as page 59). The Wabash Cannonball tab notation jumps octaves - the same music notes are placed an octave higher in some sections of the song, but not all of them. The song ought to be played one octave higher consistently, or at a minimum not change octave in the middle of a phrase. Also, the tab notation on some pieces is missing a few of of the eight or sixteenth notes. There maybe more. Also, the book has a few blank pages in the middle, not including the ones intentionally left blank to avoid awkward page turns. (Page 30, 36, 64 for example)The new ukulele.io web site also currently has issues, in that I had to register my email address for the book each time I wanted to access the member area, even though it's supposed to be done only once.

Brilliant book.
By. Far the best of any of these beginner Ukulele books. Great Folk Songs and all are playable. Most have a couple of songs and that is it. These are also backed up with video lessons on u tube or the writers own site. Terrific
