When my daily stresses become too much and I therefore have difficulty focusing on a prayer, or on religious thought in general, I use this set of prayer beads in order to chant until it becomes easier for me to get into the religious mood.The depiction of the skulls is rendered in a respectful way. My only complaint regards the shape of the skulls—they are cylindrical, which can make it difficult at times. It can be a bit distracting. “Did I get to the next skull? Or did I just grab the other end of the same skull by accident?” To circumvent this problem requires me to push space between the present skull and the next skull each time, while continuing the chant, which can be distracting and thus kinda defeat the purpose of relying on the beads in the first place.But that isn’t a deal breaker for me. When that happens, I just relax, and re-chant the same skull. There are 108 skulls, and I can go around as many times as I need until I feel ready to pray deeply enough again.This product has stood up to my continued use and hasn’t sustained any apparent damage.If you’re on the fence, give these prayer beads a chance.

Beautiful Mala, has a great heft and length and so far seems quite sturdy. One note of concern, the material for the teal colored Mala is not carved Ox bone, but is dyed Howlite (a stone) so if you are wanting more light weight bone you are going to want a different mala. I had wanted ox bone and thought that this was just dyed ox bone, but I am still happy with the howlite.

Great, grand, wonderful; until I was changing my sheets, and the string holding the beads in place snapped? I loved it until it broke, I just ordered a silver chain to hopefully place the beads back together, otherwise I'll creatively use the beads as decor? I suggest that the,"Tibetan refugee's" use an elastic or sturdier chain?

This is what I have been looking for. I was looking for large MALA beads and these are the largest I have found to date. To repeat myself. they are very beautiful.. Thank you.
