An Atlas of Anatomy for Artists (Dover Anatomy for Artists) Kindle Edition

Great book for exploring anatomy of the human body - especially helpful for artists. This book is full of many different pictures of parts of the body (from numerous sources). It depicts the skeleton, muscles, and skin in different ways, so artists can replicate realistic movement. It is a very useful book, but I found the information somewhat "dis-jointed" (for example, the body proportions of a baby are shown on the page opposite of eye movements & facial wrinkles). This is a really good Anatomy book. It's a bit way too advanced for me as I was looking for basic anatomy just for drawing that this shows you muscles and veins and everything else underneath the skin.This book would be great for somebody that's going for a more realistic or hyper realistic Anatomy. This will not show you how to draw body parts or anything like that though this is basically just shows you what body parts look like under the skin and you live from there. This is definitely a book for somebody that's more on the details of anatomy versus the basics are overall concept of anatomy.

Not for 13 years old. Regret.Nude photos from kids to adult.

This isn't a "How To Draw" book, but rather a visual reference for the more advanced artist. The pictures are sourced from a variety of sources, highlighting the forms and mechanics of the human body. There are also examples from the Old Masters, as well as plates from Muybridge's photo series of body in motion. I wouldn't suggest this book for kids, mostly because they'd be bored with it. Some of the critical reviews complain about the full frontal nudity, and fully nude photos of children. If this bothers you, you probably are not a serious representational artist anyway so don't buy it. I am a sculptor and this book has the information I need. Frankly anything your kids see in Anime or Marvel, will be more prurient than anything in this book, which is more like an old medical text.

I liked the book, itself. I was not too pleased with the condition. The pages were yellow and reeked of a suspicious skunky odor. The binding was coming apart.If only for the charcoal stains and creases on the cover, "Good" would describe it. This book is falling apart. It smells gross. This book has been in the back of a VW bus headed to a Grateful Dead concert.

The content of this book would be great if the reproduction of the images was anything more than what looks like a bad photocopy. Every photo is printed too darkly to see details. The reproductions of the masters drawings are greyed out and uninspiring. I will be returning this book

I'm a hobbyist "artist," and I wanted to find a cheap anatomy book to learn to draw the human figure at the suggestion of an actual artist friend. This certainly let me learn a lot about the human skeleton and muscles from just about every angle I could need. I'm sure I'll hang on to it for as long as I intend to draw.

I've many anatomy books in my studio library, but it is THIS old rag that return to over and over again.

Good this book for my art studies. Not 100% accurate at times, so if you want utter 100% human perfection don't buy it, however if you are happy with 90/95% accuracy, you will be happy with this. The book was second hand but still in very good condition.

Fantastic detail, broken down into more anatomical variations and angles than i ever imagined. Along with Anatomy for the Artist  and Andrew Loomis drawing for all it's worth books, a great addition to my trying to teach myself to draw better library. Anatomy for the Artist
