Boho Set Medieval Irish Costume Chemise and Over Dress

This dress is great! I'm so pleased with it. The fabric is very light, and a little thin, but for a costume it's just fine. The chemise is comfortable. You could potentially wear the sleeves on the shoulder, but the elastic is a little tight, so it's better to just wear it off the shoulder. The outside dress has a nice bit of boning where it's tied together at the front to help keep the shape. The fabric is very forgiving, so it's easy to make it fit well.

I read several reviews online an took particular notice of the ones with photos. I wasn't sure whether to order a L/XL or 2XL/3XL, but after reading the about the sizes of the women and the dress size they ordered, I decided it had to be 2XL/3XL. By the way, I'm 5'6", 205lbs, and I wear a size 18 dress and pants, usually an XL top and have a 38C bust. I also have a big stomach. As for the color, I originally wanted an Orchid/Violet, because I thought the color looked stunning and beautiful online, but I asked one of my female students for her opinion and she chose this one. As I thought about it and looked at more photos of women who ordered the Orchid/violet colored dresses online, I decided that this navy was the best. When I got the package, the first thing I noticed was how light it was. I opened it and to my delight I found a very thin fabric, yet breezy and cool enough to wear to a hot day at the Renaissance Fair. The fabric is very soft yet not suitable for cold weather. And like most people online stated, the dress was way too long and had to be hemmed, which I did right away. I took the ivory underdress in by two inches and the navy over dress in by three inches. I just folded it over and sewed the first inch, then did the same for the following inches. I have a sewing machine and know how to sew so it was easy and free. I am 5'7" tall, 150 lbs, 36C cup and normally wear either a size 6 or 8 pants. The L/XL was a perfect fit. I wasn't sure based on the reviews posted but people don't always put down their measurements so its hard to tell. Considering that all of my scrubs are a small or a medium I was afraid this would be too big, but the chemise is actually a bit snug around my chest. Considering its worn with the corset over dress thats not necessarily a bad thing but it is something to note since a 36C is not all that big of a cup size. I work at a Ren Fest braiding hair so I need something that I can move around in and this does that perfectly. The material is light and flowing and also REALLY long, again I'm 5'7" so that surprised me too. The lightness of the material will work perfect for the hot August and Sept days, will have to see if they have another heavier version because October can get pretty chilly.

I was so NERVOUS to get this, I have a rennaissance fair to got to and I studied this product way before I purchased it. I bought a color I am supposed was unpopular because it was cheaper then all the rest and I wasn't to careful with the sizing, I just got the biggest size available and crossed my fingers. It came in today in a small package, for some reason I assumed it would be a larger one. So I put it on, and it fit like a dream! the fabric is soft and the "unpopular" color is a medium pink violet. I thought it would need a petticoat to fill out the skirt, but nope... it looks great. the Chemise dress is thin, but I believe it is made that way so you don't heat up like an oven, it is also white not the color you see in the preview. It is well worht the wait and money, just make sure to check the sizing chart.

Came in the allotted time (prime) and was exactly what I expected! It flowed when I walked. The top dress was a little longer than the white under dress. Heels do the trick to compensate for the length so you're not dragging the dress on the floor. I usually wear a 14 and I'm 5'5"

Such a great dress for a last minute Renaissance Faire costume!The only size available was L/XL so I was anxious this would not fit, however, it worked out great! For reference, I'm 5'8" and about 150lbs with NO chest. The underdress is very stretchy so it could have very well fit someone more well-endowed then myself, however, it worked well with my shape. The overdress/bodice was a bit larger, as I assume was to accommodate breasts. Luckily, there is corset-type laceup in the back of the bodice that I was able to adjust to fit my chest and waist perfectly!Those under 5'10" BEWARE! This will probably be very, very long on you. At 5'8", it still dragged behind me and I almost fell up some stairs, so be careful!I believe this is polyester blend, so it wasn't so forgiving on a hot Southern California day, however, this dress is so easy to wash (I hang dried mine) that I'm sure I'll be wearing it again next year!

Bought this for a themed wedding and it's perfect. The part that goes on top of the dress is a little long and wide but I'm 5'4 about 105 lbs so I'm shocked when anything I order online fits. I'd definitely recommend it. Plus the part on top has ties in front and back so easy to adjust.

The guys at Reminiscence are really amazing -- I needed to get this dress in a shorter time period than shipping stipulated, but I sent them an email and they sent to me right away, got it in two days. Amazing customer service, and I will be revisiting them for other costuming needs, for sure.2. This dress is excellent for late summer faire weather, when it's warm but not too warm. The light polyester fabric is much easier to prance around in in the warmth of the late summer than the heavier garb. I highly recommend it! :)3. Unfortunately, I have a very weird body type (pear-shaped and somewhat short) and the dress simply did not fit me -- it was large and long, and I didn't have enough time to get it altered for the faire. I can see it fitting most body-types, however. I was very, very sorry to have to return it.
