HELLA HLA-H83135081: H3 12V 85W Yellow Star Off Road Use, Single Bulb-On a 2001 Nissan Maxima
Although these are not a true yellow, these bulbs do have a yellow type of look from a good distance, but still not yellow as you would expect like those 'JDM' cars. Now, these bulbs are manfucatured very well and are very sturdy. I would highly recommend these. I've had them installed for about 3-4weeks now and none of the two have burnt out and i doubt they will for a very long time.UPDATE: Today is 1/26/2012 and finally my passenger fog light bulb has went out. Surprisingly my drive side fog light bulb is still working fine. After my first review, I wouldn't recommend these since they didn't even last me a year. I will be moving over an 3000 HID Kit.

good lights/ GREAT Amazon customer service
First i have to say Amazon has awesome customer service. i ordered 2 of these bulbs on the 23rd of May. they were set to be delivered on the 25th of may with 2 day prime shipping. Package never showed. On the 31st i called customer service and spoke to Rob. he told me my package was lost in transit (shipped by prestige, not to happy with their shipping at all. they do not update their package tracker until its sitting on your door step. i like to watch it. The company doesnt even have a company vehicle to drop my package up. instead they sent someone in a beat up Ford Probe to deliver it one time. much happier with FEDEX or UPS.)Rob ended up shipping me out 2 more hella bulbs as a free replacement WITH next day shipping. got home from work on the 1st of june and they were sitting on my front porch. THANK YOU AMAZON AND ROB!ANYWAYS, back to the lights. These lights are pretty cool. Im using them in my Hella optilux 1450 foglights. they give off a good amount of light, may be a little more intense with a regular driving light though. Hella products are high quality. very satisfied.

Not very yellow, decent brightness
More like a standard halogen bulb, than an amber/yellow foglight. If you look at the lights from an angle they look yellow, but the beam is very much light a normal headlight.

Not as yellow as anticipated... SEE UPDATE at bottom of review.
Bulbs came in quickly. One was in a partially crushed box but was undamaged. The bulbs fit into the h3 socket perfectly and the install was painless. The bulbs do generate more heat than the original 55-watt bulbs but so far this hasn't been an issue. I'll post back if they bulbs get too hot and start to compromise the housing and/or wiring.Would have loved for these bulbs to have been really yellow but they aren't. They are a warm white color almost like tungsten balance 3200 K maybe.Wouldn't buy them again based on the color. Wanted really yellow fog lights but now have what appear to be dim old style bulbs.UPDATE: Dropped my rating to one star as one bulb is already dead! JUNK. Should have saved the money and purchased LED upgrades.

Lights are amazing
Ok so quit being ignorant and do some research before you buy a product. Seriously! They are called yellow star and they do produce a slight to moderate yellow hue but not a full blown yellow like you would think. Besides, its already been proven that yellow fog lights do not help you see any better than any other light in a foggy situation. These lights are absolutely phenomenal. I installed them in my factory fog lamps with no issues whatsoever and the extra 30watts is unbelievable. No comparison. They have been installed for over a year with no burn out and I would highly recommend this product to anyone. If you are looking for yellow then this is not the product for you (DO NOT BUY PIAA PLASMA ION, OVERPRICED JUNK AND 85W DOES NOT = WHATEVER BS WATTAGE THEY CLAIM!!! PIAA IS CRAP). If you are looking for more light for a good price then buy these. Hella is a very reputable company producing great products.

Nice
Put a set of 85 watt yellowstars in Hella 500 drivers and love them. You get some yellow in the center but whiter light to the sides. Perfect for reducing glare in foul conditions but still putting out good light. These are wired to only come on with my highbeams. These are on the misses car and she has a hard time in rain and snow with visability. So she has 500 fogs with 55 watt opilux yellows and they are good. Maybe I should have went with the 55 watt yellowstars for her fogs. Used to run piaa bulbs and loved the super whites. So last year we tried their plasma ion and they didn't last long enough to justify that price tag. If you want just a touch of yellow go with these. If you want more go with the optilux. I am running the H7 optilux in my Hella fogs on my car. You will notice a difference when the ground is wet. A lot less glare and strain on your eyes..

but so far I'd recommend these. For some reason
I have a set of PIAA 525 lights and couldn't believe the bulb replacement price. Thought I'd try these for 1/6 the cost. To my untrained eye, they are very comparable in lumens to the 55w PIAA bulbs, but they are significantly less yellow, and the PIAA aren't very yellow to begin with (if that's what you're looking for). Longevity has yet to be seen, but so far I'd recommend these. For some reason, the Hella bulbs have a sharper beam pattern than the PIAA - there's less edge scattering of light. This seems to make them project farther with less lighting of the tops of trees. One star deducted because of the lack of yellow light output and I can't imagine they will have much glare reduction in the snow. Otherwise they're very bright and reasoanbly priced.

works well
I am using them in a 4" glass PIA fog lenses and they seem to burn out quickly.I still reviewed it high because I think it is a heat problem using the 85W in so small of a fog light.I like the slight yellow tint and I plan on buying the same Hella brand at 55W because I do like the light colour on the lens and think it is heat killing the bulbs.I would try this bulb again if I upgraded my fog lights to 6".

Hella yellow star H3 bulbs
Expensive for an off road use bulb. I feel the extra money is for the Hella name, not so much better product. One bulb arrived damaged and with open box, the second bulb arrived with glue or some type of residue on the glass. As an owner of BOTH the cheaper "eBay" yellow bulbs and Hella yellow bulbs, id say buy the cheaper bulbs. They're the same color, quality, and life expectancy as these Hella bulbs. Shipping time was great.

Would not recommend.
The reviews are totally correct - not bright enough and certainly not yellow. Will have to source another part. Would not recommend.
