Durable, well made, multiple settings and intensity levels
The media could not be loaded. This is an amazing dog training device! The collar is heavy duty, very durably made, and flexible enough to comfortably adjust on the dog’s neck. The training system works with a receiver and nicely designed remote control, small enough to fit in your hand or carry in pocket. Begin by threading the collar through the receiver’s lugs, then buckling it onto the dog. The remote and receiver’s rechargeable lithium batteries hold a full charge for a very long time. This set comes with a detailed instruction book, making the use of the training collar very easy to understand and operate. The remote has 9 adjustable intensity levels, and three training options to choose from: electric beep, vibration, or shock, that you can set or change with the remote’s setting controls to find what works best, and a window to digitally read the levels. I started out using the beeps, always using a command for my dog at the same time, and found the vibrations along with command got his attention the best for simple training like “sit”, “down”, etc. I found the shock option worked best for problematic barking. I also added the extra contact tips that come with the set because my dogs hair is so thick, to get closer, more direct contact with his skin so I could keep the intensity adjusted lower. Another feature I really like is the receiver is waterproof so my dog can go out in the rain without me worrying about damaging it. I would highly recommend this dog training collar, I’ve had great results!

amending previous review
features that I love that weren't on previous training collars:the screen lock switch = no accidental signals*much stronger antennae* = essentially not breaking the antennae when I sit down with it in my pocket .more flexible collar and covered prongs, sleeker transmitterall black blends in with my black dog's coat.Six months later it is trash. First the collar was delaying the response, then it completely ceased to operate at all. I really only got about 3 or 4 months of good use before it started deteriorating.

Not a Garmin, but works good enough!
This is by far not near as good as a Garmin, however for the price you can't beat it! It does not work for our older & more stubborn dogs, but its wonderful for the younger & less stubborn ones!

Not dog proof
I was very excited to try and use this collar to train our two 60lb with further training. They are a little over 1 years old and we have not yet been successful in teaching them to not jump up on people and things(doors, vehicle). Anyway I purchased 2 of these collars and remotes from 2 different vendors and they were almost identical with exception of the plastic collars. One was matte finish and one glossy. Both were synthetic plastic, were very long, and seemed cheap. I fit them to our dogs and trimmed them so they could not chew on the extra 4 inches length. This was in the evening of the first day. The 2nd day I awoke to find both collars on the ground, and the receivers were both all chewed up and had bite marks on them. I am not sure if they chewed the receivers off of eachother or pulled on their collars until they fell off, but both were destroyed and rendered useless in training now. Our dogs are outdoor dogs and have a few acres of underground fencing that are hooked up to more expensive training fence collars. Those collars they have been wearing 24/7 for months and we have not had any issues with our dogs being able to destroy or even remove them. In fact those collars worked so well this is the reason I decided to try and do the additional collar for individual added training by remote. Tried the treat and word command training, as well as going through a class with them. With trying to train 2 large dogs, I was getting frustrated with the slow progress. I may look into trying a more secure remote collar because I do believe this training method works well with my dogs, just these collars did not last long enough to make any training possible.

Not the best collar we have had.
We have had a few different brands of training collars. This is by far the weakest as far as the dogs response goes. The extra prongs they give us are cheap and just fall off. I would look elsewhere.

Effective and easy to use.
This is a great collar. I bought it for my old hunting dog who only has another year left in her to work. The one we bought her as a puppy finally gave up the ghost. We haven't been hunting yet, but I've used it on her for unleashed walks in one of our forest-y parks. The vibration gets her attention when needed. I haven't had to shock her yet as she has mellowed out with age. I'm impressed with quality of this collar for the price. Now I wish we hadn't spent so much, 10 years ago, for her original one!A good piece of advice I have for finding the starting point for the shock level, is to put the collar on your dog and let them fall asleep. Then, start at the lowest level of shock and press the button. Turn up the shock until their ears move or they stir. That is the lowest level needed to grab their attention and in my experience, doeesn't cause pain to them yet.

Our dog is listening now!!
We had one of these before when our dog was a puppy, but we couldn't find it, so we needed to order another one. Our 2 year old GSD was starting to disobey orders and needing some retraining. The collar worked before so we wanted to try again. She remembered what it was after the first couple of zaps and immediately started listening to commands again. I like how the collar has multiple holes so that this collar will fit any size neck. I also like the prong extenders so that it gets through long thick hair. It worked great and I'm glad our dog is obeying again!!

DO NOT BUY - CHEAP PRODUCT
This collar seemed to work okay, until it broke one day while my dog was wearing it. We let her outside, she came back five minutes later and only the strap remained. The shock/beep part must have fallen off and we couldn't find it anywhere. No clue how or why it fell off, it never bothered our dog whatsoever so there is little reason to believe she tried scratching it off randomly after a few months. Really wish we could return this piece of crap but we are beyond the window. PRODUCT SHOULD COME WITH A WARRANTY - DO NOT BUY!!!!!! WE HAVE A FAMILY MEMBER THAT HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE - IT BROKE ON HER WITHIN ONE WEEK!!!!!!
