I have the solar cover roller that uses these; after the first solar cover disintegrated, a bunch of the original plastic clips weren't able to be re-used; I was able to use this to install the new solar cover to the roller, hopefully it'll last a couple summers.

They work great . My boyfriend and I made a homemade pool cover reel and they work perfectly with it.

The kit was exactly what I thought it would be. However, it did not include instructions. Luckily, it was a replacement.

The glue valcro is flimpsy. Can come off if you rely on those sticky valcro strap to hold the strap and the pool cover. I have to manually roll it with hand to not put pressure on those strap and then roll it. Otherwise, it works ok.

I have a couple where the glue doesn't stick to the pool cover reel.

I buy most of our pool equipment from In The Swim, either through the catalog and online store or through Amazon. This kit was the one of the worst products I have ever bought. I cannot believe that 8 1" by 1" self stick velcro squares are supposed to support the weight of pulling our solar blanket from the pool. The nylon webbing is so loosely woven I doubt it will last through the year. We put it together, expressing our doubts of the product, but we did it right- including cleaning and drying the entire tube of our reel to make sure the velcro would stick as well as it was supposed to, hoping it would bear out well. It wasn't even a hot day, so I figured the glue would have time to set before it got hot and melted in the sun. No such luck. Within an hour of completing the installation two of the velcro tabs were already on the ground with their straps. We stuck those on again, but the next morning two others were on the ground. My husband ended up digging through our garbage bins to find the screw on plastic tabs our last set attached with (10 straps on our last kit- not 8!) and we went through the process or threading the old tabs with the new straps and screwing them into the reel. I would NEVER recommend self stick velcro on any item outdoors, where it will be exposed to heat, but this one fell apart in 70 degree weather. AWFUL. Waste of money, waste of time. It's my first disappointment with In The Swim, but pretty significant. I can't believe someone approved this product for sale- it is NOT the quality I expected from their store and not at all worth almost thirty bucks. Get a kit from the company that manufactures the reels, it will be better quality hands down. I'll be doing that soon, since I believe I'll be needing new straps before the summer is out.EDIT TO ADD: I emailed In The Swim with the same info as above. I got a response hours into the next business day with an apology about my defective item and a refund. I order most of our pool needs from them and their prompt response and considerate customer service make me a fan of the store- but not this product.EDITED AGAIN (18 mo later): The straps are still holding up. The 8 straps vs 10 straps has made a serious difference in the way the solar blanket reels up, it takes two people to keep it straight and unwrinkled or one person contstanly straightening the blanket. Otherwise, the straps and plastic grommets that the product shipped with have held up over two summers, thanks to being screwed on to the reel with our old connectors. I do not expect these straps to last another summer, they are starting to show serious wear. Changed my rating from AWFUL to SO/SO.

It has 8 straps and my poll uses 10 with screws. This one is made for their company reel but I am fudging it to work on mine. I am using the sticky velcro to attach to my reel.. If it does not last I will have to put holes in the tape. Have not tried to reel in the cover so my fingers are crossed. Nice quality stuff and would be perfect for the right reel.

Don't have a pool cover without a reel to store it on. It's the only way to go and even my wife and remove the cover in style. This kit makes it easy to attach the cover to the reel. It's paid for itself a 100 times over already. Arrived in good condition and fast!! Thanks Amazon!
