Size down with no worries!
I ordered a small based on the reviews. I am a petite size 6 usually (35 in chest, 28 in waist, 5 ft tall) so by the chart I should have been a medium. I’m very happy with the small! It’s a bit roomy in the back of the chest/neck but I’m used to that with my frame. The rest fits perfectly! Note this will be very short on a tall person but that’s what I look for in dresses for myself since I’m so short! The green color is also exactly as pictured. This is an amazing dress for the price!

Ok ladies, here's the deal with this dress...
First of all this is a beautiful dress. I bought it to ring in 2020 in 1920's style. I recommend it!!Would I say it's $50 quality? No. I think all the embroidery and sequin work bumps the price up. But it is certainly not the worst or cheapest garment I've received from Amazon. On the spectrum of cheap, Chinese-made clothing, I give this an 8 out of 10.My two issues with the dress are related to the fit:1. I ordered a medium per the size chart, mainly looking at the waist measurement because that is what usually determines if a garment will fit me or not. I know my waist in inches and ordered accordingly. I have a 29"-30" waist so I ordered the medium, which according to the size chart fits a 29"-31" waist. The dress is actually quite loose on me around the waist. And on the upper back area where the zipper finishes there is a large gap between my body and the dress. There's just so much extra room.2. In the photo, the top of the V design where the fringe hangs from basically starts up at the girls waist, the smallest part of her torso. Based off that expectation, the dress I received is more of a drop waist silhouette, and the top of the V begins way below my belly button. It also goes way down to mid/lower thigh. It is not nearly as short as pictured. Now, real 1920s flapper dresses were not form fitting, they were loose and definitely all had the drop waist....soooo technically the dress fit me in a historically accurate sense, but I live in Vegas I want it short and tight, duh :)...It does not look the way the picture indicates, which is 99% to do with why we buy it, right? So based on that principle alone, it's a bummer. Ultimately I would have to be much larger around, have a much bigger chest, and be like 3-4 inches taller for this to fit accurately as shown in the picture....but I ordered according to actual measurements, so who knows.I have ordered a small, and in the meantime I am keeping the medium, pending return. If the small doesn't work out I will still wear the medium on New Years Eve :) I will be very, very comfortable and modest looking in it. And historically accurate, I guess.I don't want to say "it runs large, buy a size smaller than normal", but I would say it's cut a little looser and longer than indicated. If anything, know your hip measurements because that part has the least "give", and now that I've tried it on, I would say that's the most important.Undoubtedly the photo we see is an XS, and I think they just don't do the most accurate job of technically sizing them up from there.

Good quality dress
Super pleased with elegant gold/beige version of this dress. The sequins and fringe were good quality and sewn on well. I was pleased with the length even though my friends who attended the same event wore the black and green versions of this dress felt the length was short for them. I did not. I was comfortable the whole evening in this dress

Fit like a glove!
I was skeptical at first but decided to purchase and it did not disappoint. The dress fit so perfectly. For reference, I am 5”2 155-160lbs. I ordered a large. It went above the knee which I liked and it’s a pretty dress. There’s no zipper. It’s slip on.

Unexpected perfection
Honestly this style dress was not what I originally wanted but since the other dress wouldn't have made it in time I settled for this one and honestly it was beyond perfect. The fit was very on the nose for the time period and style so I was glad it wasn't too tight. Due to the measurements given on the sizing chart though I was worried that the 2x would not fit and bought both 2x and 3x just in case because some reviews said the fabric wasn't stretchy but honestly I can't see how they came with that conclusion. The fabric definitely has some give. My only complaint is that the 3x still has not arrived and it should have been here the same day as the 2x if not the day after. The 2x showed up right on time.

Good 1920s dress at a great price
The dark green color is gorgeous. It’s liked that the inner liner prevents the sequence from scratching your skin. I’m 5’5” and it hits mid thigh. I got the large and it’s a bit loose. I like that it slightly nips at the waist. Most flapper dresses are straight and I’m athletic with a curvy butt. I was worried about finding a dress that would work for me.Caution - it’s short so make sure you can sit down in it. That’s why I’m glad I got the looser large - the medium probably could’ve worked. It has a good amount of stretch. The hanging fringe on the shoulder and hem moves when you spin around. It will be fun to wear to a Gatsby party!
