I never knew about a carpet rake until I saw it being used by the professional carpet cleaner. This was model that most closely resembled what he used. Simple and quick to use. I have 2 large dogs. Used it for 5 to 10 minutes before I vacuum. I only gave 4 stars for deep cleaning because I only own area rugs. Not sure what it would do on deeper shag. But because this is close to what the expert with 22 years experience used, I think it should work. Buy it if you have pets and want to see your carpets bounce back.

Good but bad handles
They do well for taking the carpet, but the handles are rough and splinter.
