It's Not Rocket Science!
I worked on the Space Shuttle program for 31 years. We used Tygon tubing in our Hazardous Gas detection system, thus that was my first choice for a problem I was having. I have a Radon system at my house. There is a long, vertical pipe to exhaust the Radon gases above the roof level. During the cold winter months, water from the exhausted gases condenses in this vertical pipe, flows to the 8" pipes in the basement and fills them at their low point. I drilled a hole into the 8" PVC pipe at its low point, tapped the hole with a ¼" tap, and attached a 3/8" brass hose barbed fitting to the pipe. I then attached a short section of the Tygon tubing to the barb. This went to the Labcock PVC ball valve, with a longer length of Tygon tubing attached to its outlet. The other end of this longer tube goes to a drain in the floor. When the differential pressure of the Radon system indicates that there is water in the pipes, I open the valve to drain the water. The water is gone and the system is again working fine. When the outside temperature drops below 20°F, I have to drain the system about every 3rd or 4th day. When the outside temperature is in the 30° to 50°F range, the system needs to be drained every two to three weeks. The clear Tygon tubing allows me to see when all the water has been drained. Being condensed water, it is neither acidic or basic and the tubing is fine for this fluid since it is designed to be used with dairy products (that are slightly acidic).

Couldn't have imagined a better valve.
Small. Solid. Reliable. Exactly what I was looking for. I've been meaning to write them a personal thank-you note. It's rare that I run across something that was so conceptually simple but engineered in inspiring, almost artistic way. I thought I was just getting some cheap valves that I needed for something on a lark. What I got was something that someone took time, consideration and caring to design and make. It'd odd to think I would ever rave about a valve, but here I am.

Works Just Like it's Supposed To
This valve is well made and came exactly as described. I am using it in my fish pond and it works perfectly for this application.
