The Anti-Mary Exposed: Rescuing the Culture from Toxic Femininity

Fascinating Book!
This book is a fascinating read on how the woman's liberation movement was highjacked and turned into another assault on everything moral and Godly. It reads much like an explanation of the injection of Marxist thinking into our Christion culture. The author documents the facts and lays the process out quite nicely. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are raising young girls. You will understand how the dark forces are corrupting our youth. Kim Lee

Easy, read that explains how old feminism has totally messed up woman.
Great Catholic perspective on how the last 50 yeaes has been detrimental to modern women and has contributed to making women LESS strong, happy or empowered. It clarifies the problems and consequences of the abortion culture and offers solutions for real feminine freedom based on the virtues of Mary, the Mother of Christ.

diagnosis and remedy for one form of cultural subversion stemming from errors of Communism
Carrie Gress, who holds a doctorate in philosophy, pens chapter after chapter of incisively accurate depictions of the hellish culture spawned by feminist tyrants in their attempt to incarnate "equality" to men (or their distorted version of what is, of course, equal human dignity). One can only nod assent to all the particular indictments forming the litany of denunciations in her jeremiad. On a more positive note, I especially liked her accounts of the truly intelligent women (such as Mallory Millet, sister of the notorious Kate Millet, and Sue Ellen Browder, former writer for Cosmopolitan) who eventually realized the "toxic femininity" (actually insanely crazed) nature of the agenda being promoted by the 1960s militants, such as Friedan, Steinem, Millet, etc. (Browder converted to Catholicism, which apparently fulfilled her!)Granted that in human history the male of the species has been by far the most prone to physical violence and responsible for the atrocities of war, nevertheless in their pride and lust for power, certain influential females have lent indispensable complicity in the mayhem by the campaign in recent times to legalize the killing of their own children (and approving of that so-called "choice" by their ideological "sisters" to likewise murder their own children), thereby resulting in the slaughter of innocent human beings in our benighted era on a massive scale that is morally and statistically equivalent to the carnage precipitated by all the 20th and 21st century wars combined -- and Dr. Gress does indeed continually return to this central issue or paradigmatic theme of abortion in her narrative of the destruction wrought by the feminists' misguided attempt to change human nature by reducing coveted "rights" of women to the license taken by belligerent men who seem to always gain control of government policy, sending weaker and powerless men off to die in ruinous unjust wars. Her antidote to the toxin is, of course, something that most die-hard feminists would block their ears to prevent hearing: namely, start acting like the women God intended for them to be by renouncing the pride of Eve and Jezebel, instead imitating the virtues (humility, faith, hope, charity, motherly and spousal affection, and perhaps above all the intellectual honesty) of that prime exemplar of womanhood in human history -- she who is exalted above all mortal men and even all the angels -- who will cooperate with her Son in defeating the arrogant spirit of the anti-Christ.P.S. Fact-check on p. 36: Herodias was the wife of Herod, not Salome, who was her daughter.

Dissecting the Origins of the Female Misogynist.
Yes, you read the title right - modern feminist are misogynist. Do you ever find yourself asking: “Why do women seem to be seeking the male mode of being as the ultimate mode of being? Why do they only see respect in what men typically do? Why do they feel the need to be like men? And why made up these standards?” You will find a great number of clues in this work by Carrie Gress. Adeptly, the author lays out the case and presents the evidence of the masculine subversion of the feminine psyche. Who are the agents of this subversion and enslavement? They are women themselves - women driven by conflict and power, who decided sex was the driving power of the day. In order to end their “oppression” Kate Millet and others decided the peddling of their bodies, and the bodies of every young girl from that point on would be the way to gain control of the power, - sex. One could rightly dub the moment that rose from this an indoctrination not in the value of the woman, but in the value of the female honey pot. In a world wrought with sexual abuse, assault and harassment, it is high time we take a hard look at the very female misogynist who sold both men and women the idea that women’s power was in their sexual abilities - and desired all women to be seen not as an authentic good in themselves, but rather desired they be known as only a good of pleasure or a good of utility. It’s time to know the enemy of women - it’s time to know the modern feminist and their origins.

Author does a great job really shining a light on the truth about feminism and what women have become, where they came from, and where they should strive. Mary is out true strength

The Empress' New Clothes
Had I stumbled on this book, I probably would have not bought it, because the title seems confusing to me. However, I saw Dr. Gress interviewed on "Life On the Rock" on EWTN, which made me want to read this book. That wasn't the end of my misgivings, however, as I have heard other lively and interesting authors interviewed, and upon receiving their books, found the writing style nothing like the live author, or worse, that someone who can convey ideas and tell their story in a clear, accessible engaging style in person has written a top-shelf tome for the initiated, not a book for beginners at all.So it was with trepidation that I cracked the cover of this book when it arrived today from Amazon. I need not have worried, since I have not put it down since, and read more than two thirds of the 200 pages in one sitting. The style is very accessible, the writing graceful and flowing, the points thoughtful and well-articulated, and underscored by relevant footnotes. Even when I am familiar with an incident or news item being discussed, Dr. Gress reveals details I did not know or unfolds it in a larger historical context. There are places where she is writing as a woman to other women, but most of her remarks are also addressed to men, who, I think, can also read this book with profit. For one thing, this brief book is a joy to read, and a welcome change from the daily diet of poorly-written, badly edited, strident and questionably substantiated news.

"Be an outlaw. Be a damned outlaw!"
"Be an outlaw! Be a damned outlaw!" Carrie Gress has pulled together what has been facing us for a while now with the demonic howls at the Brett Cavanagh hearing with their clamour to kill babies without any regard for life or person. These women have been plainly intent on something that goes way beyond rights or any standard of common decency for a years now. She examines their roots and concludes the deliberate hatred of God and Christianity lies behind their efforts. Some really good quotes to back up the argument that a woman' right to choose virginity and to aspire to be like the Mary Mother of God will lead half the planet back to being cooperative and actually liked by the other half. It might hurt a few pockets- sex sells.Genesis 3:16"I will multiply thy sorrows, and thy conceptions: in sorrow shalt thou bring forth children, and thou shalt be under thy husband's power, and he shall have dominion over thee."

A very powerful and profound insight into our present cultural confusion
An excellent and accessible analysis of the present cultural climate for women and more importantly the wonderful antidote. A book I highly recommend for women and men.

Dois mundos
Obra bastante objetiva e coesa.

The Author Gives Catholic Women A Lot to Think About...
A look at the way the roles of women have changed over the years, and not always for the best. A good reminder to Catholic women that Our Lady is the ultimate example of selfless love, and motherhood, and getting back to her example is what the world needs right now, as we are in spiritual crisis.
