Yuri Is My Job! 3

Yuri Is My Job! continues to build strength as a series and Volume 3 is heavy on the intrigue, making a reader wonder just what everyone's agenda is. The focus of this volume is on Kanoko and Sumika. We learn how Kanoko and Hime became friends in school and realize how deep Kanoko's feelings for Hime run. As for Sumika, she's concerned about that but does she fear a romantic Hime/Kanoko relationship could hurt workplace dynamics? Or does she want Kanoko for herself? Meanwhile, the cafe is promoting the election of a Blume, the waitress who best epitomizes the ideals of the supposed Liebe Girls Academy. Hime wants to win, or at least see Mitsuki get the post. It's a contest that has the customers excited as well. Yuri Is My Job! is living up to the hopes I had when I first learned of this series.

In this volume, we learned about Kanoko's background with Hime: how they met and became friends. We also learned more about Sumika who's a lot more than just her gyaru appearance. I fell in love with all the charters in Liebe Academy. Such a fun romcom yuri series. I'm so glad Kodansha picked this one up.P/S: I'm very pleased with Amazon cardboard book wrap this time. Previously all my books were put inside padded envelopes which sometimes damaged the corners. Not this time though.

Quite frankly I was going to stop reading this until I read the last full chapter in this volume (chapter 16).I like Kanoko's and Hime's characters. I'm indifferent to Yano. I've hated the manager since volume one. Now the gyaru has become insufferable. Seriously I don't care about the reasons your a co-worker so keep your nose out of their business or fire her, but no, manga logic at work here so let's not use our brains. It's a work place not an actually school. No one has to be there. That's why the manager's character ticks me off so much. First off coercion. Second she never manages she just sits back and watches while knowing full well how Kanoko felt. Tell the gyaru to back off or do something as a manager.Honestly the story isn't all that great but I do like Hime and Kanoko. I'll buy the next volume but only when the price falls I'm not paying $11 for this when in the last two volumes I really only liked one chapter.

I absolutely loved this volume. The story is excellent and I cannot wait for volume 4 to be released. I recommend Yuri is my Job to everyone who loves yuri manga.

I feel this was a decline in character quality. While one of the two characters it focuses on I did like, both come off rather poorly. Art is still great and I wouldn't skip it as it still has developments likely needed for the next volume. Just don't expect too much.

Sumika and Kanoko are extremely compelling, can’t wait for more of them. The wait for the next volume is too long...
