Great Workbook for Kids that Hate Workbooks
These books first caught my eye on a display in Barnes and Noble a month ago and I knew this was the solution to keeping my six year old up on his skills over the summer. These are colorful drawn, fun exercises with each concept building on each other with smooth and seamless transitions into the next topic. The pages are not filed with heaps of busy work but the problems are presented in a way to get the child to understand the concept, not just push through a bunch of number problems. I feel the learning value and retainment of the learning object is much higher because of the seer presentation of the material and the way the book makes you process the learning objectives. As an added bonus and probably on of the most important parts of the book are the hands on activities that are geared to get the child to see how everything they learned has practical value in the real world (although the written problems are also geared this way throughout the book). This is not a book that a you can sit your child down and have them do it themselves! This book requires you to actively teach your children, which makes this the most beautiful concept of the book (although unfortunately, not all parents will agree with me on the active-participation-required part). We can’t rely on teachers to teach our children everything, our knowledge and teaching of our own children is so important and this why I love these parts of the book.My only suggestion is to list the items required for most craft projects on your website or on the information listing for the book. Because I don’t have a lot of the listed items, I have had to skip some of the hands on activities until I can get the items needed. But I do love that most items (over 75%) you should be able to find around your house. In summary: there are NO other workbooks like this that I have found anywhere (Amazon or Barnes and Noble). This books greatly stands out; there is no close comparison to any other workbook on the Market today.Does my son love it to death? Of course not, at the end of the day, he still knows he is doing work in the middle of summer! 😂But getting him to sit down in an effort to keep his skill sets from spilling over the summer AND giving me more opportunities for me to step up and teach my child, that is worth more than gold in my house!

Engaging and fun
This is a great science book for kids. The projects are simple but effective in driving home the concepts that were taught. I personally have my kids do 2 pages a day (very quick and easy), but you could so an entire lesson in one sitting. The only downside is that the pages are not well bound for the amount of use these are getting. For me it isn't a deal breaker. We use these a lot so wear and tear is bound to happen. I will still give it 5 stars.

It’s ok - would not use as a sole science book/source
This book is ok. Touches vaguely on topics then jumps to another. Very little info provided on a topic (couple sentences) before kids asked to answer questions. Answers to questions are so obvious there is no challenge. The pics that go with an answer miss the intended outcome.
