Outstanding Book
I tried one of those new diets that claimed to have the latest cutting edge research on health and longevity. It claimed that lectins were the root cause of my joint pain and if I quit eating them it would go away. After being on the diet for quite some time and eating a lot of coconut, eggs, and nuts I was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer on the same side of my colon as my severely arthritic hip. While on the diet my joint pain actually got worse. After reading Dr. Blaylock's book I learned that certain cancers including colon have a strong link to inflammation. He has a section in the book on inflammation that includes a list of plant flavonoids that are very strong inhibitors of the inflammatory COX and LOX enzymes . Since I've started taking them my hip feels much better with a lot less pain. He also said that a lot of foods I had been eating were very high in arachidonic acid which he calls fertilizer for cancer cells. I've now quit eating all of them. Being familiar with Dr. Blaylock who I first saw on a program called your health with Dr. Richard and Cindy Becker I knew he was someone I could trust for very well researched and honest information on the treatment of my cancer. Hardly a day goes by that I don't read it.Update 7/12/23I just got the results of a post surgery CT DNA blood test which detects the presence of cancer anywhere in the body and it was negative so now I go into a monitoring phase to see if it comes back. Even though the surgery was necessary I'm convinced that following the recommendations in this book made a tremendous difference by enhancing the radiation/chemo treatment effectiveness, minimizing the side effects of the treatments, and preventing the spread of the disease. The tumor thickness was 2.5 cm before the chemo/radiation treatments and before the surgery it had shrunk to less than 1 cm and a lot of the tumor mass was dead cancer cells. I know this because the pathology report on a pre-surgery tumor sample that was taken came back benign. Another thing that made me realize the book made a big difference was that during my post surgery recovery stay in the hospital a dietician visited me and was very anxious to know how I did so well with the cancer when most of the people she visited with the same condition weren't doing very well. The first thing I told her about was this book. Here are some things I learned during the process that I hope may be helpful:-- If you decide to try the books recommendations for supplements get the ones he recommends, they're expensive but as I kept telling myself you don't get a do over.-- I'm trying not to give away the recommendations in the book because you need to buy it but Pectasol (modified citrus pectin) was also recommended to me by another source as a way of preventing metastasis. Even though I had four lymph nodes infected none of the scans ever detected any cancer spread. I took 1.5 scoops twice a day on an empty stomach and usually waited at least 20 mins before eating anything.-- Two other books were very helpful during the process Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Juices by Dr. Norman Walker and The Greatest Manifestation Principle in the World by Carnelian Sage (I tried to do that one every day)-- Read the whole book not just the index listings for you specific cancer, for mine I found several references to colon cancer that weren't under colon cancer in the index-- For me his recommendation on the omega 6 fats to avoid turned out to be very important-- Many of the chemo drugs mentioned in the book in association with a specific supplement had different names so do some research. For example the book mentions 5FU which turned out to be the IV form of Xeloda the chemo pill they had me take. I didn't find that out until halfway through my chemo treatment when the oncologist happened to mention it in passing.

Must have for cancer patients
One of the best cancer books I have read. Wish I would have had this 8 years ago when I started this fight. If you or a friend has been diagnosed, you need this book!

really importand information in it - as a homeopath i am happy that i found that
My daughter has brain cancer stage 2, just had her surgery and now the doctors in germany don't know that to do cause the cancer is to rare that they have no experiences with it. We here in US have more experiences with it but we want to help her from here with remedies and not only chemical medications. Coming over to here for treatments and more is without being a us citizen to expensive. So i bought this book and what i found is awesome, exactly what my doctor told me i should tell her about the nutrients and supplements she should take to avoid that the cancer cells coming back or worse. as a homeopath i had cancer on my own and i won the battle without chemo and more years ago and now i can show my daughter what is possible to help her immune system to fight for, this is important that she helped her immune system to fight and i will send her this book that she can read it on her own and maybe she believe it, we will see. i am a full believer cause i went through it but everybody is unique everybody need to fight for his/her own no doubt about it. this book for me its worth to buy and read and try it.

Great Book but missing key facts
I give this five stars, but it has some short comings. For whatever reason, Blaylock ignores the substantial evidence that high doses of Vitamin C in IV form has been shown to be a very effective treatment for cancer. The dose rates he prescribes are far too low and in the wrong form. Cancer patients should get 2x a week IV vitamin C injections or take liposomal vitamin C, 10 grams a day, daily.See Hoffer/Linus Paulings book, 'Healing Cancer' where they give a statistically proven vitamin/supplement program that will increase survival time 500 %. Blaylock should be ashamed for missing this epic study as it was done by a 2X Nobel Prize Winner. I aslo highly suggest readers understand the science behind Blaylocks recommendation by reading Orthomolecular Medicine for Everyone by Dr. Abram Hoffer. Hoffer gives many, many natural treatment programs for diseases, including one for cancer in his book.Blaylock needs to badly rewrite this book on Vitamin C doses and forms!! This is a major fail, imo, in light of recent and past scientific evidence. Blaylock may have been influenced by the Mayo Clinics highly rigged study on Vitamin C which Dr. Linus Pauling debunked. He also fails to unearth the fact that 50k IU a day of Vitamin D3 was used in the 1920 to treat cancer until the patent was over turned. So the amount of Vitamin D3 he prescribes is very low. See Jeff Bowles recent book on Vitamin D3 in high doses. Also recently high doses of Vitamin B1, in an oil soluable form is being used to treat cancer in Japan and other degenerative diseases, around 1-2 grams per day. Blaylocks doses rates are far too low, imo.He also states incorrectly that lemons, will acidify your blood, they are an alkalizing agent. His treatments for herbs aka Materia Medica is pretty rudimentary and I suggest William Cho's books by Springer Verlog on Materia Medica and consulting with an ND or Chiropractor on an evidenced based herbal program. Also he leave out such potent anticancer herbs as Neem Leaf (now being made into a patented drug for cancer), Cannibis Oil (now in phase one trials in the UK for brain cancer, in a patented, synthetic form), and Sodium Dicholoroacetate, a near 'cure all' miracle treatment available in Canada, through Medicor, Toronto and the highly effective German Hyperthermia treatments. But the AMA would pull his license I suppose if he talked about those natural treatments for cancer that are not toxic and carcinogenic like rad/chemo is.Still he gets so much 'right' if you're only going to recommend one book to a cancer patient this should be it, as its most up to date. Hoffer did most of his ground breaking work on nutrition, high doses of vitamins/minerals/amino acids and cancer during the 1950s and 1960s and 1970S. It's a shame that Blaylock does not promote Orthomolecular Medicine to his readers.
