Absolutely beautiful. Compliments my decor perfectly. These do have a weird smell when you 1st open but quickly went away.

Gorgeous boxes
I have been a huge fan of Jonathan Adler aesthetic, and this was my chance to snag a couple of his designs at a more reasonable price. I have them sitting on my dresser, holding a bunch of knick-knacks that I don't use very frequently - they look absolutely gorgeous. Totally elevates the look of the room!

Nice boxes - a bit overpriced.
These Stacking boxes look great with the chroma Lacquer Tray from this same collection - Now House by Jonathan Adler.I found the boxes are very lovely and the white color with black accent is quiet stunning in person. If you look very closely you will see that the black paint is not perfect - but honestly this does not bother me. The boxes are wood and the lids do fit quiet tightly at first - but after a week or so they seemed to be perfect to open/close.The boxes are easy to clean - just wipe the dust off. If something liquid does get on them - which some did on one of mine and I used a bit of force of nature on microfiber cloth and it came off with ease. For the price that you are paying these could be a bit better in quality - and the boxes had to gas off in the garage for two days after opening them.Jonathan Adler has been offering really amazing products with his new line - Now House. I would really suggest that you take a look at this amazing jewelry box in person as the colors are just amazing.

Nowhere near worth the price
I adore Jonathan Adler and I have a LOT of his pieces; both from his store, and his line here on Amazon. It pains me to give anything he does a bad review. From a distance these are cute enough. I suppose they are cute close up too, if you paid about $20 for the set. They are super cheap Asian imports. The wood is cheap and light. The paint on the larger box is fine. The black trim on the smaller one was poorly painted, all crooked and messy. Not to mention there were light black paint smudges all over the top. The quality of the boxes is similar to what you'd expect to pick up in Chinatown or Big Lots, but you certainly wouldn't be paying almost $60 for them.If the top of the smaller box didn't look as if it were filthy from the paint smear I probably would have kept it because the design is perfect for my room; however, i would have felt completely ripped off and disgusted. But since it is messy and looks gross, back it goes.Keep looking, you can find something with a similar look that is a lot better quality for a lot less money.

Beautiful Boxes, Artsy & Functional
There are just boxes and then there are BOXES. The Now House by Jonathan Adler Decorative Stacking Boxes are heirloom quality pieces that look stunning on one of my library tables. They add stylish panache to the room and double as convenient storage containers for precious items such as watches, timepieces or whatever you so desire. The wooden boxes are solidy made and coated with a high gloss finish that really pops, especially when light hits them. In fact, I haven't seen boxes like this in any mainstream store, though I have seen something similar at select gift shops/galleries. These are works of art and they look almost sculptural on one of my modern tables. The smaller box can easily be nested inside the large one, but I am using mine and enjoy having both on full display. They do emit an odor (scent of laquer) when they arrive, almost like the smells in a high end department store. But only when you lift the lid. If it's an issue, I suggest wiping them down with a cleaning product and airing them out before use.I'm a fan of Jonathan Adler Now House products. I have several pieces that look and feel like collectibles. They add charm and sophistication to my home. The boxes as functional decor is "outside of the box" thinking in terms of projecting a minimalistic mindset. It’s a set that maximizes space while capitalizing on usability. I like the fact that it adorns my room while helping me to stay organized. I think it’s an investment in lifestyle that’s classy and modern and helps bring out the best in one’s home decorating.~ Kort

Overwhelming strong odor that won't go away
Love the color, size and construction...noticed a slight odor, assumed it was the paint. Over time - about a month - the oder has become so strong that I had to put these in the garage. Anything I had stored in them - reading light, lip balm, sleeping mask, etc.. - has become contaminated....the odor is a VERY strong petroleum type one. I washed the boxes and lids, sat them in the sun, washed again, etc. and it just gets worse. I LOVE this line, but something is wrong here... and potentially toxic to the consumer not to mention those in the factory making this stuff.

Sleek and Stylish
The Jonathan Adler brand carries unique home decor items. These boxes are a more traditional shape than usually put out by his brand, but come in bold and playful colors that are characteristic of his style. These glossy lacquer boxes have your keepsakes, trinkets, and other small stuff covered. I chose these Chroma lacquer stacking boxes set for my jewelry. The small box has all my Fitbit Charge 2 bands. The bigger box has necklaces. The blue color is perfect for my bedroom. I would not be able to afford paying full price for these boxes on my budget. However, they are worth the price for many people. They add a touch of class to any decor.

Now that the smell is guide, they work nicely with my decor
Well, as other reviews said these definitely have a very strong chemical smell, but it goes away after a day or two. Just leave them out with their lids off and they'll be fine. Now, as also stated by other reviewers, the paint job isn't perfect. The big box has a slight imperfection along one edge but that's it for my set. So since blue is my favorite color and my room is done in shades of blue and grey, it works with my decor.
