So this was my second time buying these and I absolutely love them. They are leak proof, dishwasher safe and extremely durable. I’ve had my original set for about a month now and I use them everyday to pack items of my lunch in and take with me to work. The only problem I had with this product is that they require a tiny bit of strength to open and seal all the way. After a couple of uses you will begin to get use to opening and closing them all the way.I highly recommend these for anyone interested in replacing re-usable plastic bags as their primary option for storing and packing food.

UPDATE: I’m really happy with these awesome, earth friendly, reusable bags. I bought this brand along with a kit (from another brand), that included beeswax wraps, S, M, L reusable bags (comparable sizes to Shark Lock), and reusable flexible lids. I can say that Shark Lock bags are slightly better quality and the material is thicker.I reviewed numerous reusable storage bags before purchasing this brand. One common reviewer complaint was the difficulty in closing certain bags. These Shark Lock bags are easy to close! However, they can be difficult to open if they have been in the freezer. I find if I allow the bag to sit for a minute and then try again, it is opens easily.My only complaint is that after freezing carrots in the medium sized (aqua) bag for a week, the bag was stained orange and is permanently discolored. The bags are very vulnerable to rich pigments and stain easily.Speaking of colors...I don’t know why people are having such a fit about them. Sure that aqua green is ugly....but who cares? It’s really not about aesthetics...ultimately we are ecologically minded global citizens and we are committed to doing our part in saving the planet by reducing our consumption of single use products. We should feel proud! I do.One last thought: these will make awesome gifts as well as encourage others to reduce their consumption of single use plastics. Let’s give the gift that keeps giving!

I was impressed at the weight of these bags, they are much more substantial than I thought they would be. I've used them for food storage in the fridge and marinating meats. I love them and will probably order another set in the future. I think that with two sets, I'll never need another disposable storage bag. They are easy to clean, more versatile than disposable bags, and feel very durable. I've only had mine a month, so I'll update in the future concerning how long they last. So far, I'm very happy with them. Here's an update 6/1/20 - now have had these for quite a while and have used them heavily. They've been in the freezer, the oven, the microwave, the fridge, and have gone on a few camping trips. They still look and perform as if brand new. Great product, worth the $.

The bags are very difficult to open the first time. Each bag is stuck together and in the process of opening a hole occurs in the side of the bag, especially as you get closer to the bottom of the bag. I ordered three 6-pack packages. One bag in each package was so tight I could not get it open without tearing one side, one of the smaller bags and two of the 6-cup bags. Other than that they work well.

UPDATE:After writing my review, I promptly received a whole new set with a very nice note. Could also tell that they had been previously opened (I assume to make sure no rips). I have no idea what was wrong with the larger bags in the first set I received. But the new set is amazing. These bags are very heavy duty and easy to use. My kids love playing with them and they hold up to the toddler test!I bought these in hopes of being able to kick our plastic ziploc habit maybe even use them for the bulk section at the grocery store. And the smaller bags came in handy, and I really liked them! But then I went to use the bigger bags... I opened it SLOW and GENTLY from it being vacuum sealed. BUT IT RIPPED. Giant rip right in the middle. I am so incredibly bummed. These bags seem super durable given they are thick and heavy, but apparently not even durable enough to be opened for the first time... And of course my window of "returns" closed just a few days ago. Figures.I hope that this review gets seen and I hope that the company does what is right. Which would be either a refund or a replacement of the product.
