This volume brought a conclusion to the plotlines involving the shield hero's main companion and the companion like her older sister. There are still big plotlines that are still open. New possibilities are open for the group. Hopefully they will use the experience they gained in this volume to handle the next headache coming their way.

Volume 14 is a masterpiece, weaving the story ever forward. Be ready for another great adventure in the lands of Q'ten Lo this time- Shield up!

The invasion of Q'ten Lo continues as Naofumi seeks to punish the heavenly emperor who has ordered Raphtalia's life be ended. A thrilling chapter filled with exciting battles and a deeper insight into Raphtalia's shrouded past.That being said, the waiting period between volumes 13 and 14 was massive, spanning almost double the months between previous volumes.Gramatically the writing is quite good, with only minor slips here and there in the form of a missing letter or an extra period/comma. The translation however is a different story.I can only assume that such a massive wait was due to the fact of a change in writers/translators, and it's apparent from the first page. I found that the conversation flow between characters was at times hard to follow, switching between interactions and first person perspective not fluidly enough to avoid confusion. I often found myself needing to re-read an excerpt to make sure I fully understood what was going on in the scene, at times even misinterpreting a word in an incorrect tense that broke sentence fluidity. I hope writing quality improves the later volumes.All in all, the series wraps up the Q'ten Lo arc quite nicely, leaving readers wondering what's in store for the Shield Hero and his crew.

This one definitely wraps up the events from the last book. I really don't mind the deviation from the webnovel as it flushes out the world and characters a lot more. The light novels definitely read as a more concise and polished tale. Looking forward to the next one.

It's nice to finaly see the end of this arc. Sadly thhough, the wait didn't do anything to fix spelling errors. And for some reason they dropped honorifics completely? 🤔 Great end to the arc. Might want to hire a new proofreader though.

I’ve been reading this series since the beginning, I really enjoy it. To me this feels different than the usual “isekai” genre but in a good way.

Wie erhofft gibt es wieder heftige Kämpfe in diesem Band die erstaunlich neue Kampftechniken präsentieren. Schlag um Schlag wird das Territorium von Raphtalia’s alten Heimat dem Fängen der aktuellen Macht entrissen. Auch Naofumi ist nicht untätig und bringt seine Kochkünste auf ein neues Level, zudem findet er einen gleichgesinnten Fanatiker. Unteranderem gibt es besonders viel Alkohol um das ganze Geschehen in netter Gesellschaft zu verarbeiten.

Finalmente o a invasão a Q'ten Lo começa, eu achei simplesmente fantástico. O romance entre o Naofumi e Raphtalia continua a sua evolução a curtos passos, os outros relacionamentos se indireitam. A autora mostra mais do drama de outros personagem. Em geral foi uma ótimo light novel e estou no aguardo dos próximos volumes.

It arrived in perfect state and right at the release scheduled time.The story gets even more interesting in this volume with the closure of the Q'ten Lo arc, it has a great amount of action with the multiple major fights that occur through it, pretty good character introduction + development and the right amount of feels by the end of the volume.If you are a fan of the series this will not disappoint you, in fact it will make you happy as it's an increase in the quality of the story and has a nice ending to the origins of Raphtalia's parents.Definitely worth your time to get your hands into this.

As it's been for the last 7 volumes the quality is really not great but it's still enjoyable despite how cliche it has become. That said this volume has a surprisingly low number of fight for an invasion arc, which is for the better as they've never been the serie forte instead it focus more on the backstory of some characters and introduce some new one who has so far been quite interesting. There's also some bit of good comedy so overall it look like a step in the good direction.

The shield hero series are ready well written. This volume has a good mix of action and funny moments! Recommended for all fans of this serie.
