Jesus said that the most important commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. He said that the "'second is equally important: 'Love [others] as yourself...'" (Mark 12:29-31). 1 Corinthians 13 gives us a detailed description of what love is. It is not a feeling or an emotion but an action. It is treating someone as Christ would. Christ is the ultimate personification of love. For Christ died for us, forgave our sins, & loves us unconditionally despite the fact that we don't deserve it. Let "us not love [merely] in theory or in speech but in deed and in truth (in practice and in sincerity)" whether or not we feel like it or think that they deserve it. (1 John 3:18).
