Excellent way to keep your soups/sauces warm
We love iron skillets for the excellent cooking features they offer, as well as the retained heat they provide when you're ready to bring your dish to the table. This little hot pot does not disappoint at all. I make large pots of soup or chili and freeze batches for quick meals, and now I have this little gem to heat what I've made and it keeps hot/warm after I bring it to the table. I've also used it for sauces or gravies to keep them warm during the meal. And I just used it to warm up a batch of frozen berries with a little maple syrup to serve with my last batch of German pancake for a beautifully presented meal (that stayed hot).LOVE IT!

Care has to be taken when using this cast iron pot
A good cast iron pot, but came unseasoned so it sticks to food when searing and is not rust-proof. The black coating can slightly wear off at the edges after cleaning in a dishwasher and the exposed inside will rust if not dried properly. So I had to oil and season it myself to make it non-stick and durable.

Good pot, weird lid
I bought two of these, as I like to cook one-person cast iron servings (like shakshuka) as well as hot pot. The wooden lid has a really strong smell and is probably too porous for steaming (worried about whatever chemicals it’s sealed with leeching out), but the pots themselves are good.
